Hollywood is a small place, so you’d think some people who have beef—or who have at one point or another said something about each other—would be forced to confront that when they met at a party, awards show or red carpet. And even if we don’t have any clue of what exactly happened between Jennifer Lopez and Gwyneth Paltrow since that infamous interview over 25 years ago, it seems the two are on good terms these days.
“They are doing OK, they are friends,” a source told The Daily Mail. “There is no frost, no bad vibes, they are good.”

Some would say that’s surprising, considering the 1998 Movieline interview in which Lopez said Paltrow was better known for dating Brad Pitt than for her films. But that was over 25 years ago, so it seems like they’ve moved on from it.
The two are set to attend The Hollywood Reporter’s annual Women In Entertainment breakfast gala held at The Beverly Hills Hotel, and both will be commemorated. Lopez will receive this year’s Equity in Entertainment Award, and Paltrow is getting the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award.
But when did the two make up? Consider that when Lopez married Ben Affleck in 2022, Paltrow commented on social media, “Love is in the air” a clear hint that by that time, the two had buried the hatchet.
During that infamous interview, Lopez said, “Tell me what she’s been in? I swear to God, I don’t remember anything she was in. Some people get hot by association. I heard more about her and Brad Pitt than I ever heard about her work.”
Paltrow went on to win a Best Actress Oscar in 1999 for Shakespeare in Love.
The Daily Mail also reports that Affleck’s other ex, Jennifer Garner, gets along with both Lopez and Paltrow. “There is no tension among them even though they have been with the same guy,” a source said.
Paltrow and Affleck dated on and off from 1997 to 2000, years before Paltrow’s first marriage to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and her current marriage to Brad Falchuk. Lopez and Affleck, meanwhile, have dated two separate times. They first started dating in 2002 after meeting on the set of the movie Gigli, and got engaged soon after, in November 2022. They remained together for a few years and then broke their engagement in January 2004. After that, Lopez went on to marry Marc Anthony, and Affleck to marry Jennifer Garner. Affleck’s marriage to Garner lasted ten years, from 2005 to 2015.
Years after divorcing Garner, in 2021, Affleck and Lopez rekindled their romance. And this time, they moved fast. They got engaged for a second time in April 2022 and married in July 2022. But once again, it wouldn’t last. In August 2024, Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on the second anniversary of their wedding ceremony.
Lopez and Affleck are both single these days. And though there have been rumours that their kids would like them to give the relationship another try, there’s no indication that they will.
