Thanksgiving is a time for family, so it’s kind of normal to expect celebrities who have kids to be spending at least part of the holiday with them. But when it comes to Brad Pitt, it seems like his holiday plans will not include his estranged family—and in many ways, that isn’t all that surprising.
Instead, Pitt plans to have a quiet Thanksgiving with his girlfriend Ines de Ramon, according to People. The two “enjoyed a quiet Thanksgiving last year with good food,” according to a source, who revealed their plans this year are “similar.” A source close to de Ramon added, “They like keeping things low-key and creating intimate traditions. They will be celebrating with a small group.”

No mention of his kids, which isn’t all that surprising considering Pitt doesn’t really have a relationship with any of them. After his contentious divorce from ex-wife Angelina Jolie, amid allegations of abuse, Pitt has remained estranged from his kids. Recent reports, however, have indicated that there have been attempts by Pitt to change this.
According to those reports, Pitt is “desperate” to “win back” his kids, particularly his youngest two, Knox and Vivienne, and “make amends.” But the Daily Mail reported that he “knows the chance … is remote to say the least.” Which perhaps explains why he doesn’t seem to be up to trying for this particular holiday. The actor was reportedly “devastated” and yet “got the message loud and clear” when his youngest daughter, Vivienne, dropped Pitt from her last name in a 2024 Playbill.
She isn’t the only one. In fact, all of Pitt’s kids over 18 have dropped Pitt from their last name, with only the two youngest still retaining the last name as they cannot legally change it yet. However, despite this, the Daily Mail also reported that Pitt considers all his kids “very important to his life” and wants them “all back in the fold.”
Us Weekly reported a few months ago that he has taken the distance from his kids hard, and has “made several efforts to reconnect with his kids.” The outlet also added that he sees his youngest kids, “periodically,” however, “the rest of the relationships are strained. It’s caused him a lot of heartbreak.”
Meanwhile, RadarOnline confirmed Pitt still has legal visitation of the kids, though the source added, “What use is that if none of the kids want to see him?” The outlet also specified that sons Pax, Maddox, and daughter Zahara “just hate his guts.”
Even his youngest kids might soon be out of his reach, considering reports that Jolie is planning to relocate as soon as the twins, who are now 17, turn 18. She “plans to relocate as soon as Knox and Viv turn 18 next year. She’s eyeing several locations abroad. She’ll be very happy when she’s able to leave Los Angeles,” Page Six reported. Similarly, a source told People Jolie is preparing to “put the house up for sale” and move overseas.”[Jolie] never wanted to live in L.A. full time. She didn’t have a choice because of the custody arrangement with [ex-husband] Brad [Pitt],” the insider claimed.
Doesn’t seem like this relationship can be fixed anytime soon.
