Divorce always comes with a lot of upheaval and a lot of adjusting to new things. It’s not just two people not being together; it’s them not sharing a home, and what that means for not just them but their kids. That’s true of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban. But when it comes to where they live, neither of them is budging.

Both Kidman and Urban are reportedly staying in Nashville. Not just that, the Daily Mail reports that for now, the two are practically neighbors. Talk about awkward.

Urban has lived in Nashville since before he became famous. Kidman joined him after the two married in 2006, so it’s been almost two decades for her and her daughters, Sunday, 17, and Faith, 14. Makes sense, she wouldn’t want to leave.

Kidman has stayed in the family home since their split was announced, with Urban moving to a home nearby. His home is reportedly close enough that people have spotted them shopping at the same Whole Foods, though, of course, doing so separately. Ironically, the couple even reportedly still uses the same hairdresser.

But it’s not just that. Their daughters attend school in Nashville, and it’s easier to follow the custody agreement the two signed if the two are in the same city. The agreement reportedly indicates Kidman gets to keep the girls 306 days, while Urban has them for 59, including Thanksgiving. Reportedly, he gets the girls on weekends every other weekend.

All of this comes after reports that their separation was turning dramatic. People reported, “Their split is turning dramatic. Nicole’s hurt and feels betrayed,” according to a source. “She wanted to save their marriage and believed that she could, but it seems he’s already moved on.”

Very soon after the split, it was reported that Urban had already moved on. “The rumor is that he’s with a younger woman in the business,” a Nashville music industry source told Daily Mail. “It’s all everyone is talking about. Everyone wants to know who, but so far, that’s a mystery.”

And considering these reports, it’s not strange that Rob Shuter’s ShuterScoop recently alleged that Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, the couple’s two daughters, are on Kidman’s side. “They love their dad, but Nicole’s been the constant,” one insider said. “She’s been there for every school event, every bedtime. Keith’s been touring, filming — gone.”

Urban reportedly has a “fiery temper,” unlike Kidman, making the actress a safe place for her daughters right now. “The girls have seen who held it all together,” the source explained. “They feel safest with Nicole.” And Kidman is taking it seriously. “She’s turning their home into a sanctuary,” a family friend said. “There’s yoga, journaling, family dinners — all about healing.”

And perhaps, part of it is about Kidman not wanting to disrupt her daughter’s comfort, considering the divorce was not her decision. Rob Shuter’s ShuterScoop said right after the split that it was Urban’s choice. “Nicole wanted to fight for them, but Keith had already checked out—and she knew why. It wasn’t about distance, schedules, or bad habits. It was about another woman. And Nicole knows who she is.” Another insider said, “She’s not naïve. She heard the stories; she saw the signs. At some point, the truth becomes impossible to ignore. She’s not going to live as anyone’s second choice.”
