Prince Harry wants Meghan Markle to clear the air with her estranged father, Thomas Markle. The Duchess of Sussex’s father is currently hospitalized in the ICU, and her husband wants her to reconcile before it’s too late.

Several sources told Rob Shuter’s Shuterscoop that Harry was inspired by his own forthcomings with King Charles and wants to impart that wisdom to his wife. “Harry knows estrangement,” one source said. “He made peace with his dad; now he wants Meghan to have the same chance. He’s been saying, ‘Don’t wait, do it now.’”

Another source added, “She needs to see how serious this is. This isn’t about headlines, it’s about family.” A different source divulged, “Thomas has been through strokes, heart attacks, and more — the man has survived Hollywood-level drama. But this time? It does not look good.” He had previously missed Harry and Meghan’s wedding after suffering a heart attack just days before.

Thomas Markle’s son, Thomas Jr., reported that his father was undergoing emergency surgery in the Philippines. “I took dad to a hospital close to our home and they did various scans and the doctors said his life was in imminent danger,” he told the Daily Mail. “They raced us by ambulance, with the sirens going, to a much bigger hospital in the centre of the city. My dad has undergone emergency surgery. I would ask everyone around the world to keep him in their thoughts.”

Meghan Markle previously talked about her disagreements with her father after he staged paparazzi photos before her wedding to Prince Harry. “I said, ‘I just need you to tell me and if you tell me the truth, we can help,’ and he wasn’t able to do that,” she told Oprah in the tell-all interview. “That, for me, has really resonated, especially now as a mother… I look at Archie, I think about this child [on the way], and I genuinely can’t imagine doing anything to intentionally cause pain to my child. I can’t imagine it. So it’s hard for me to reconcile that.”

“This is a moment where Meghan can choose — silence or family,” a source emphasized about the situation. Harry’s encouragement is reportedly soft, compassionate, and very much a “lead by example” moment. “He’s showing Meghan what reconciliation looks like,” one source whispered. “And he hopes she takes it.”

The push is coming after Harry’s own reconciliation efforts with his father, King Charles. After their long-awaited reunion in September, there might be a bump in the road. Charles and Queen Camilla are set to visit the US during the country’s 250th anniversary in 2026, but may not be able to see Harry, who lives in California. “State visits are extremely demanding, with schedules planned months ahead and packed with carefully arranged events to strengthen diplomatic ties,” a source told RadarOnline. “There’s hardly any free time, and it’s hard to imagine the King making a detour across the country to see Harry and his family in California.”

Princess Anne had also reportedly told  King Charles, about the importance of family in the wake of his cancer diagnosis. “The news that her beloved brother’s cancer is incurable has forced her to face a devastating reality – there’s a sense of urgency and time’s running out,” a source told Woman’s Day.
