Justin Trudeau and Katy Perry are flaunting their diplomatic skills. The politician finally acknowledged his girlfriend in public after heavy speculation about their romance.

Former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his wife, Yuko, met with Trudeau and Perry on December 4, 2025. “Former Canadian Prime Minister @JustinTrudeau visited Japan with his partner and joined my wife and me for lunch,” the former politician wrote on X. “During his time as prime minister, we met multiple times as fellow leaders, and when I visited Canada, we worked together to strengthen bilateral relations, including formulating the “Japan-Canada Action Plan,” sweating it out side by side. I am delighted that we continue to maintain this friendship in this way.”

Trudeau responded to the message by reposting it, and adding, “Great to see you @kishida230,” “Katy and I were so glad to have the chance to sit down with you and Yuko. Thank you, Fumio, for your friendship and your continued commitment to both the international rules-based order and to a better future for everyone.”

Rumors of Trudeau and Perry being together circulated after the “Dark Horse” star broke up with her ex-fiance, Orlando Bloom, in July 2025. The two seemingly confirmed that they were a couple when they were seen holding hands outside the Crazy Horse in Paris for Perry’s birthday in October 2025.

On the podcast “Arlene is Alone,” Trudeau’s ex-wife Sophie Grégoire spoke about how her former husband’s relationship with Katy Perry affected her outlook on life. “You know, we’re human beings and stuff affects us. Normal,” Grégoire explained. “How you react to stuff is your decision. So, I choose to try to listen to the music instead of the noise.”

The two announced their divorce in August 2023. Grégoire spoke about how she deals with the noise coming from the public and press, saying that she is “very aware that a lot of public stuff out there can be triggers.”

“What I do with it is my decision,” she added.” The woman I want to become through this is my decision.”

But she’s still letting herself express her feelings no matter what. “I’ll let myself be disappointed by someone, I’ll let myself be angry, be sad,” she explained. “And I know for a fact how important it is, as a mental health advocate, to feel those emotions.”

She went on to say that she’s not a single mom and confirmed that she’s co-parenting their children with her ex.
