Andrew Mountbouten Windsor and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, have always lived a pretty comfortable life. Andrew was, after all, born a prince. And though Fergie didn’t have anywhere near the same accumulated family wealth, when she married Andrew, she still came from a well-connected family. Their marriage then raised their profile, and even after the divorce, the two have continued to live like royalty.
But without a free house at Royal Lodge and support from the British royal family, how will the two fare? Reports indicate, there’s a plan in place. RadarOnline is reporting that the two are planning to sell family heirlooms and personal gifts received from Queen Elizabeth in order to support their lifestyle.

“Andrew has a trove of jewels and trinkets that are rightfully his, or so he claims, which would fetch many millions if he puts them up for auction,” an insider shared with the outlet. “He has letters from his parents and photos that capture intimate and historical moments, plus a cache of home videos and other mementos that would be any collector’s dream.”
Ironically, Andrew might have to vacate his home at Royal Lodge, but he’s not exactly going to end up homeless. King Charles reportedly has a home for him at Sandringham and is set to provide him with a six-figure settlement for breaking his 75-year lease, as well as a financial annuity. But Andrew apparently feels like that isn’t enough, with reports indicating he and Fergie are “terrified” of how they’ll pay the bills.
The source also indicated Andrew could keep some valuables before departing Royal Lodge.
Of course, the royal family is likely to react negatively to this plan, with the insider saying that if the two really decide to do this, it’ll be an “unprecedented nightmare,” adding: “It would be the equivalent of him pressing the nuclear button.”
All of this comes after reports from Rob Shuter’s ShuterScoop that Andrew is “refusing to leave” Royal Lodge and has been “telling people he wants £75,000,000 to even think about moving out.” And he reportedly has conditions about his new home, too, with the gossip columnist reporting he’s demanded “a cook, a gardener, a housekeeper, a driver,” as well as police protection.
But what about Fergie? Well, RadarOnline.com is reporting that Ferguson could “turn on” Prince Andrew and will do anything she needs to survive this. “Sarah’s always known how to look after herself,” a royal insider said. “If she’s forced to pick between protecting Andrew or protecting her own future, she’ll put herself first. She realizes this scandal could finish her off – and she’s not the type to go down without a fight.”
“If that involves cooperating with authorities or doing highly-paid tell-all Netflix shows and books to betray Andrew for cash so she has a retirement fund, she will do it.”
We’ll just have to wait and see when Andrew and Fergie end up vacating Royal Lodge, where the two go after they do, and what exactly they will do to earn money in the upcoming years. It seems like, right now, nothing is off the table.
