Ever since Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s engagement was announced, everyone has been wondering about the wedding. And though Swift has likely not had time to plan much, what with her new album and her fiancé Travis Kelce still in the middle of his NFL season with the Kansas City Chiefs, that doesn’t mean people are less interested. And what’s the number one thing fans want to know when it comes to weddings? Wedding dress.
And one recently reported Taylor Swift connection is drawing attention as people speculate about who might end up designing the singer’s wedding dress. An anonymous—and unverified—source told celebrity gossip website Deuxmoi: “The most talked about bride to be will be wearing Givenchy by Sarah Burton to her wedding.” The tip was submitted under the pseudonym ‘Tailor’ with the subject line ‘Loverrrrrr’, the name of Swift’s seventh studio album, released in 2019.

Burton, the creative director of Givenchy, was also the designer behind another very famous wedding dress, that of Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, during her 2011 wedding to Prince William. Then, Burton was at the helm of Alexander McQueen.
Of course, Swift will have many designers fighting for the job, and she has previously worked with the likes of Oscar de la Renta, Vivienne Westwood and Donatella Versace on her Eras Tour. So until she confirms anything, it’s all speculation. But that speculation does indicate that she might have flown to London to record a video for her song Elizabeth Taylor, and taken the time to meet with Burton while at it. Multitasking and everything.
And Burton might not be the only thing Swift might have in common with Kate Middleton, as there are reports the singer might invite Prince William and Kate Middleton to her wedding. A source told Fox News Digital, “Taylor Swift is one very canny operator — developing her fan base, working incredibly hard writing some of the most popular pop tunes of the last decade, and cementing a good friendship with the future king Prince William over 10 years ago — a relationship that has culminated in private letters, inspirational cards and good wishes to Princess Catherine during her difficult year,” the insider said.
Does that mean the royals will get an invite? Perhaps? “Now, Taylor is planning the wedding of all weddings, but this is what makes her unique,” the source continued. “She wants to use the wedding not just to say as a celebration of love, but also to thank people who have made the journey to this point along the way and that will include all manner of people from all manner of backgrounds”
Swift said in an interview to promote her new album on The Graham Norton Show that the wedding would be big, so there’s certainly space. “I’m so excited about it,” she explained. “I know it’s going to be fun to plan because I think the only stressful weddings are the ones where you have a small amount and people are on the bubble. And you have to evaluate or assess your relationship with them to see if they should be there.” But that’s not the case. “I’m not going to do that,” she explained.
Does that mean we could expect royalty? And, perhaps, the same wedding designer as Kate Middleton? We can’t rule anything out.
