With the Christmas holidays approaching, there’s a lot of interest in what the British royal family will do. Who’s going to Christmas at Sandringham? Where Will Andrew and Fergie be? Is there any chance Harry and Meghan get invited? And what about Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie? Will they stick with their parents or attend the celebrations with the rest of the family? And would they even be welcome?

According to the Mail on Sunday, “Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie face a ‘tug-of-love’ dilemma after being invited by The King to spend Christmas at Sandringham.” The reason for this is that their parents are reportedly not being invited.

“With their disgraced parents banished into exile, the sisters are being pulled in different directions by their divided family’s competing demands,” the outlet reported.

The decision has reportedly become both “a logistical and emotional nightmare” for the sisters. One source said about Beatrice, “Unless she makes a decision to pick one side and one side only, she will spend a lot of time in the car,” adding, “Overall it falls to the princesses to soothe family divisions. They are struggling with Christmas.”

Meanwhile, “Eugenie was tempted to stay in Portugal with her family and husband Jack Brooksbank,” a source told the outlet. “She is so settled there, far from all the drama.”

All of this comes after RadarOnline reported that there’s been renewed pressure to also strip Beatrice and Eugenie of their titles. An insider told the outlet, “Beatrice and Eugenie show up at family events, but they don’t perform any official royal duties. The public sees their titles but doesn’t see them contributing to the institution, which creates confusion.”

“Their roles are more symbolic than practical. Nowadays, the public expects anyone with a royal title to play an active and meaningful part,” the source added.

RadarOnline also reported that on the heels of Charles‘ meeting with his youngest son, Prince Harry, in September, he is now planning to invite him for Christmas. An insider said, “An invitation to Prince Harry has not been completely ruled out if the king truly wants to spend time with his immediate family. There has always been a sense that the emotional door was never fully closed.”

Presumably, this is also part of the reason why the two princesses have also been invited, even though their father won’t be after a year that saw him stripped of his titles and ordered to vacate Royal Lodge. “After such a turbulent year, particularly given The King’s health and the continuing repercussions from dealing with Prince Andrew, it is understandable that Charles would want this Christmas to carry deeper meaning,” the source added. “And despite his positive cancer updates, he knows if things take a turn for the worse, it could be his last Christmas.”

Do Beatrice and Eugenie want to spend Christmas with their disgraced parents? Will they choose to spend time with the rest of the royal family? Or will they just stay with their husbands and in-laws and avoid drama? We will find out sooner rather than later.
