Jail isn’t exactly a good place, no matter who you are. It’s not built with anyone’s comfort in mind, and once you’re in there, your life will absolutely change. Nick Reiner is currently in jail, facing charges of first-degree murder for the homicide of his parents, Rob and Michele Reiner. And the jail he’s currently at is reportedly not a very good place to be in.
According to Page Six, Twin Towers Correctional Facility, where Reiner is being held, is a mental health jail, which has housed the likes of Paris Hilton, Harvey Weinstein, Robert Downey Jr., “Jackass” star Steve-O, and rapper The Game, among other stars. But the fact that the jail has held many famous people doesn’t mean it’s a particularly nice place.

Beverly Hills Defense Attorney Adam Michael Sacks told Page Six, “You don’t want to be there, it’s disgusting. Every client I went to visit begged for bail.”
And it’s reportedly not just the accommodations, but every part of it, with Sacks saying, “The food is disgusting,” he added. “It makes cafeteria food look good.”
The New York Post also reported on the conditions inside the facility, alleging that county commissioners have claimed cells have feces on walls, urine on floors and that the concrete walls are covered in graffiti.
California Attorney General Rob Bonta filed a lawsuit against the Los Angeles County, Sheriff’s Department and Correctional Health Services regarding the alleged “inhumane” conditions in September. The lawsuit says Twin Towers is filled with mold and rust, and that rats plague housing units and black worms infest shower stalls.
Rob and Michele Reiner’s autopsy report hasn’t been released yet, but the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s official report confirmed the couple died of “multiple sharp force injuries,” with their deaths officially being ruled a “homicide.” Their son, Nick Reiner, faces life in prison without the possibility of parole or, due to “special circumstances,” even the death penalty if he is found guilty.
Us Weekly reported recently that Nick had been having issues for a while. “Nick’s problems have been going on for so long, so while everyone is in a state of shock right now, it’s not entirely surprising,” a source said
The outlet also said, “A lot of his anger was directed at his parents for many, many years,” with an insider adding, “They did everything a parent could possibly do to help him. Even in his younger years, they really tried to get him help. And then it became a cycle of seeking treatment for him, kicking him out, or him leaving the house, him moving back in.”
On Wednesday, Dec. 17, Romy and Jake Reiner, Rob and Michele’s two other children, released a statement about the situation: “Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day. The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience,” the statement read. “They weren’t just our parents; they were our best friends.”
“We are grateful for the outpouring of condolences, kindness, and support we have received not only from family and friends but people from all walks of life,” it went on to say. “We now ask for respect and privacy, for speculation to be tempered with compassion and humanity, and for our parents to be remembered for the incredible lives they lived and the love they gave.”
