The release of the Epstein files has left many people scrambling. And the British royal family isn’t immune to this, particularly considering the former Prince Andrew’s close relationship with the convicted sex offender. That relationship has already cost Andrew his titles, his home at Royal Lodge, and might even end up landing him in jail if recent reports are to be believed.
But he’s not the only name associated with the British royal family to be mentioned in the Epstein files. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also make an appearance, for a more benign reason than Andrew.

According to RadarOnline.com the files show an email exchange between two parties, with both names redacted, from March 11, 2020, two days after Harry and Meghan made their final appearance as working royals at the Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey. In the emails, the two parties discuss one article published by Yahoo Lifestyle titled “Prince Harry comments on Prince Andrew’s friendship with Jeffrey Epstein in Prank.”
The sender wrote about the article, “This article is estimated to have over $4million in publicity value. Insane.” The reply was, “Has any other article come close to that? An estimated 231,33,672 readers, and that is just from one stupid article.”
“Nothing that I recall even comes close. For context, a really important Wall Street Journal or Times articles average about 250,000 to 500,000k,” the original sender replied, adding, “This had Prince Andrew, Prince Harry, and Megan Markel (sic) in the same story.”
The article was specifically about alleged calls between Harry and pranksters Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov, also known as the Vovan and Lexus team. The two posed as Greta Thunberg and her father, Svante, during phone calls that were reportedly recorded on December 31, 2019, and January 22, 2020. They then released the calls online to coincide with Harry and Meghan’s last days as working royals.
In that call, Harry said about stepping down as working royals, “Sometimes the right decision isn’t always the easy one,” and added, “And I think there’s a h— of a lot of people around the world that can identify and respect us for putting our family first.”
He was also asked about Andrew and his friendship with Epstein, to which he responded, “I have very little to say on that. But whatever he has done or hasn’t done, is completely separate from me and my wife.”
“We operate in a way of inclusivity, and we are focusing on community. And so we are completely separate from the majority of my family.”
All of this comes amid a new round of speculation about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s marriage, something that seems to pop up every few months. But according to friends, things are just fine. A source close to the couple told PEOPLE that the spotlight and speculation don’t affect Harry and Meghan. “It never creates friction between them,” a source said. “They’re fully aligned and always operate as a team. It never puts them at odds.”
And team Harry and Meghan is staying far away from Andrew.
