Sarah Ferguson is being advised not to ruin her reputation further. The ex-Duchess of York has been approached with several book deals, but the people close to her are urging her not to take them.
Sources told Radar Online that Fergie wants to pick up a deal that’s worth six or seven figures, but the people close to her don’t want her to do it for the sake of her own personal life. “The concern isn’t only about public reaction – it’s the effect on her family ties,” a source disclosed. “A book could stir up past conflicts and spark fresh tensions, especially with her daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. Their bond is still hugely strong, and anything that strains it could have consequences across the wider royal family.”
Fergie is reportedly under “huge pressure” to secure financial stability, since she and Andrew are being evicted from Royal Ldoge. “She’s looking for ways to secure her future and finances, and a book deal is an obvious lure,” said another insider. “But the dangers are serious. This isn’t simply a financial decision – it’s about trust, reputation, and the connections she still has. Going ahead could have devastating consequences.”
“There’s a pattern with this,” the source added, referring to Prince Harry’s memoir Spare. “Even when done with good intentions, a tell-all can put family relationships under strain and attract intense media attention. Sarah is well aware of that risk.”
A close friend also emphasized that she wants to repair her reputation after she called convicted sex offender , “She wants to take back control of her life, but preserving her daughters’ trust is crucial. There’s genuine concern that a book could undo all the progress she’s worked for.”
“Sarah has the opportunity to pursue private projects or charitable work that wouldn’t put her family ties at risk,” a palace aide said. “A memoir might bring in money, but the damage to her personal life could be lasting. It could easily become the biggest mistake of her life if she’s not careful.”
The reports come after Fergie tried to personally mend her relationship with the Royal family over the holidays. She reportedly sent out solo Christmas cards, with a source telling the Daily Mail, “Those addressed to members of the Royal Family have been accompanied by a gushing personalised apology for her part in the fall of the House of York,” the source explained. “Including the desperate line: ‘I hope we’ll meet again’.”
Sarah Ferguson and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor were notably absent from the royal family’s Christmas celebrations at Sandringham as they were uninvited from the yearly tradition. The pair’s daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, spent Christmas with the royals.
