The decision to strip the former Prince Andrew of his titles and evict him from Royal Lodge hasn’t really changed the narrative surrounding his relationship with the British royal family. Perhaps that’s because he has yet to actually move, and though he wasn’t invited to spend Christmas with the family, his presence in London means he’s still part of the general consciousness. But will that change soon?
Reports indicate Andrew is set to move to his brother’s estate in Sandringham soon, though no specific date has been set. However, some experts believe that, as much as King Charles has taken some steps to separate himself from his brother, Prince William will be much harsher when he’s in charge.

Andrew Lownie, who wrote a biography about Andrew and his ex, Sarah Ferguson, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, said Andrew himself understands how much things will change when William is in charge. “He’s worried about what’s going to happen,” Lownie told Page Six in a recent interview. “He’s going to be no longer protected. William is going to deal with him.”
“He wants the stables cleaned … the window dressing is that Andrew will leave by the spring, and he’s a good boy, and he’s done what he’s been told,” he added.
But, according to Lownie, Andrew is rarely “a good boy,” with the royal expert predicting the disgraced royal will “go kicking and screaming,” and only after demanding a list of things, including a “pretty big house, extensive staff, a gardener, a driver, a housekeeper [and] a cook.”
Previous reports from Rob Shuter’s ShuterScoop indicated that Andrew was “refusing to leave” Royal Lodge and had been “telling people he wants £75,000,000 to even think about moving out.”
The Daily Beast had previously reported that Andrew was demanding a “six or seven bedroom” home in Sandringham to even consider moving out. A friend of his told the outlet, “Andrew has done exactly what has been asked of him, and he just wants to be left alone. He is giving up the lease on one of England’s finest houses and expects to be treated fairly.”
Andrew Mountbouten-Windsor was stripped of his titles and ordered to vacate his home at Royal Lodge earlier this year after the scandal over his connections with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein became too much to ignore, even for the royal family. That, added to the posthumous publication of Virginia Giuffre’s memoirs, where the Epstein sex trafficking victim claimed she had been forced to have sex with the former prince when she was only 17, was the final nail in the coffin for Andrew
The disgraced royal denied Giuffre’s accusations, but paid Giuffre a multi-million-dollar settlement in 2022. In a newly released 2021 email from the Epstein files, Andrew allegedly asked Epstein accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell if she had “found me some new inappropriate friends.” The newly released files also include a picture of Andrew, Maxwell, and several unidentified women at Sandringham.
