It’s no secret that Taylor Swift is the star of every award show’s red carpet whenever she makes an appearance. One of the first award shows of the year is the Golden Globes, so the age old question is whether the star will be there or not.
Taylor Swift graced the 81st annual Golden Globe Awards red carpet wearing a gorgeous green Gucci dress. She appeared on the red carpet sans her now-fiancé, Travis Kelce, but she lived it up at the awards show with her bestie Selena Gomez, who was nominated for her role in Only Murders in the Building.
But will she be at the awards show this year?
Is Taylor Swift going to the Golden Globes in 2026?
It’s unlikely that Taylor Swift is going to the Golden Globes since she isn’t nominated for any category. In 2024, her film Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour was nominated for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement, which was when the category debuted in the awards show.
During the awards show where she attended, Jo Koy made a joke about her during the introductory monologue. “The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL — on the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift,” Koy joked. “I swear, there’s just more to go to.” Swift was seen sipping her drink, unfazed, as a reaction shot.
While Swift hasn’t made an appearance since, current Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser has raved about The Life of the Showgirl artist as a diehard Swiftie. (She attended an impressive 22 Eras Tour shows.) When the comedian and Swift both attended the 65th Grammy Awards in 2025, Glaser recalled that she was too scared to say hi to her.
“I will never be the one to be like, ‘Excuse me!’” she revealed on Armchair Expert With Dax Shepard. “There’s no way that she’s dying for that on a night like this where everyone’s doing it. And of course, she would be so nice. I know exactly how it would go down, but I don’t wanna take someone’s energy away that I require their energy to be put into making great music.”
“It’s almost rude what I do, when I’m in the same room as Taylor Swift, because I won’t even look her way,” the super fan said.
