We can’t get enough of People We Meet on Vacation! The Netflix film adapted from Emily Henry’s beloved book certainly does it justice, and it’s all thanks to Tom Blyth and Emily Bader’s incredible acting skills.

The film focuses on two best friends Poppy Wright (Bader) and Alex Nilsen (Blyth) who enter a slow-burn will they, won’t they type of relationship through their adventures while traveling. In true romcom fashion, the cast members had fun filming the movie behind the scenes because of all the fun they had.

“Even if I didn’t hear anything, I felt happy to be a part of that chemistry read,” Bader told Netflix’s Tudum. “Emily just brought it from day one. It was so clear,” Blyth says. “Brett called me afterward and was like, ‘It’s a no-brainer, right?’ And I was like, ‘You’d be crazy not to cast her.’ ”

And it’s true! The two embodied the characters to the T, and garnered lots of praise from fans. “People We Meet On Vacation is truly a romcom for the ages and one of the best adaptations. Emily Bader and Tom Blyth as Poppy & Alex are an absolute delight and their chemistry is just off the charts 🧡,” a fan observed on X. During the press tour, many fans also pointed out that the co-stars look close IRL. “Tom blyth and Emily bader have such good off screen chemistry as well. Truly looks like they love hanging out with each other,” another fan wrote.

Are Tom Blyth & Emily Bader dating in real life?

The simple answer to that question is no, they are not dating in real life. Tom Blyth is currently dating fellow actress Daniela Norman, while Emily Bader’s relationship status is unknown.

While the two aren’t dating, the co-stars had very pleasant things to say about each other in the film. “It’s so fun because she gets to go off the rails and be larger than life, and then I get to counterbalance her,” Blyth told Bustle about their scenes together. “We’re both way more like Poppy, so I found it quite hard at the beginning to play Alex. He thinks of himself one way, and then he gets to loosen up as the film goes on. She’s so amazing and self-deprecating, but I think she’s proved to herself that she can do anything as well.”

In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Bader had similar complimentary things to say about her co-star. “He was really present with me, and also really in tune with his character,” she reflected. “Poppy and Alex, it’s such a fun dynamic to get to play. We did the scene of the first time they ever meet, which is this really long, elaborate, jabbering scene. And it was just a blast to get to act with him.”
