Hudson Williams is getting real about Asian representation. The Heated Rivalry star is proud of his heritage and isn’t afraid to show it off.
In Rachel Reid’s Game Changers book series, Shane Hollander is Asian-Canadian, and more specifically, half Japanese and half white. The series barely touches on the character’s background, but in the TV show, representation becomes a bigger feature. “A whole lot of kids are gonna be looking up to (him), kids that don’t see themselves here a lot,” Shane’s mother, Yuna, says when it came down to her son’s brand deals.
On the same note, before Heated Rivalry premiered, Hudson Williams expressed that his mom was proud to see him represent Asian characters on screen. “I think it meant a lot to me and my mom,” he told The PR News in November 2025. “She always thought it would be harder for me to break into film and acting because she hadn’t really seen anyone.”
Hudson Williams is half white and half Korean. His mother is Korean, and his father has British and German roots, according to the actor’s GQ profile.
Even in the midst of Heated Rivalry’s rising popularity. Williams is always proud to show off his Korean roots. The actor’s Instagram bio is “이거 뭐야?” which means “What is this?” in Korean. He’s also said “thank you” to a fan in Korean when he was given a photocard.
The star has also shown off his multi-step K-beauty skin routine, which he attributes to his mother and her three sisters’ immense knowledge of skin care. “My interest in beauty was always bound to be there, being half Korean,” he told The Cut. “My one auntie is the plug. She gets skin-care products for me every birthday and every Christmas.”
At the 2026 Golden Globes, Williams and Connor Storrie met K-pop idol Joshua from SEVENTEEN. In a viral moment of their meeting, Williams reaches out his hand to introduce himself and says, “Oh my God, a fellow Korean!” The trio then took a bunch of cute photos that we’ll frame in our hearts forever.
