A lot of the drama between Brooklyn Beckham and his parents, David and Victoria, is centered around his relationship with his wife Nicola Peltz. If the rumors are to be believed, the Beckhams don’t really approve of the relationship, despite Brooklyn and Nicola being happily married. And though the reported feud has seemingly escalated, new reports indicate this might have been the case from the start.

Nicola’s parents reportedly agree with Brooklyn and Nicola that Victoria’s wedding dance was “ghastly,” but they have other reasons to dislike the Beckhams. And according to The Daily Mail there’s some snobbery involved. “While both families are super-rich, Nelson sees himself as statesman-like, while the Beckhams are much more ‘new money,” a source said.

“This has led to much snobbery on the Peltz side. They think they are way above the Beckhams when it comes to class and wealth.”

It all reportedly came to a head at the wedding. “There was so much embarrassment about Victoria dancing. Any other family would have thought that was rather fabulous! Imagine a Spice Girl on the dancefloor at your daughter’s wedding: it would have been fun, but the Peltzes thought it was ghastly.”

For the Beckham, it reportedly feels like they’ve lost their son to Nicola and her family, with a source telling The Sun, “It feels like he has been stolen from them and it all feels so extreme to have got to this point,” and adding, “They have been trying to stay strong for each other and have kept themselves busy, but it has hit them really hard.”

But that source insists Brooklyn’s parents aren’t mad, just concerned. “They are so worried for their son and don’t know what to do anymore to help him.”

Tensions were apparently high since Brooklyn signed a prenup before marrying Nicola, one that makes it clear he has no claim to her fortune if they separate. Then, things reportedly got worse when Brooklyn and Nicola bought a house, and Nicola owns most of it, thanks to her family.

“David and Victoria are two working-class kids done good. They have grafted hard for their money and understand that with privilege comes responsibility,” a source said then. “On principle, they will not needlessly spoil their kids and have taught them the value of both industry and money.

“So, when it came to buying this house, of course they weren’t just going to hand their son millions of pounds — what sort of message does that send?”

However, reportedly, Peltz’s parents were willing to give Nicola the money and expected the same from the Beckhams. Plus, reports indicate Nicola’s father Nelson, “hates” Brooklyn.

“It appears that Nelson has a huge dislike of poor Brooklyn. Everyone in the family knows it. He will openly vent his opinion, telling Nicola she could have done so much better,” a source said. “Brooklyn’s career is so comedic to them. When Brooklyn told his in-laws he was trying to launch a hot sauce, Nelson just laughed it off as a joke.”

“He’d say to Nicola, ‘I don’t know why you’re with him. The kid’s an idiot, a loser, you could have done so much better’. Nicola just responds, ‘Dad!’. But that’s it. Brooklyn doesn’t have a clue what to do. He’s all over the place and the weakest person in the world. He’s like Nicola’s little puppy.”

However, The Mirror reports that Brooklyn has no regrets about his decision. “He would do it all again in a heartbeat but now he just wants to live his life with the woman he loves.”
