Kate Reportedly Still Has ‘Jealousy’ Toward William’s Alleged Mistress as Sources Claim the ‘Hurt’ of His Rumored Affair Has ‘Never Fully Faded’
For the last few years, UK news has mostly tried to stay away from the topic, so it feels like the rumors about Prince William‘s reported affair with Rose Hanbury have pretty much died. But, every once in a while, there’s a report that takes us right back to when that was the only news anyone could think about. And people are still very much interested in it, and if the two women still get along.
RadarOnline.com is reporting that as Kate Middleton prepares to draw even firmer boundaries for her royal life, she is still haunted by the rumors of Prince William’s affair and is determined to keep Hanbury far from her orbit as a result.

The rumors were ever just that, rumors, as both parties denied it, but the outlet says that the emotional impact of the rumors that William and the Marchioness of Cholmondeley were romantically involved was felt.
“When the rumors first began circulating, Kate was deeply shaken and emotionally blindsided,” a source said. “They undermined her confidence in the life she thought was stable and secure, and the hurt they caused left a lasting imprint that has never fully faded.”
At the time, William and Kate reportedly sought counseling, and though the two are thought to be in a much better place these days, the lasting rumors did cause a strain in the relationship. “They were forced to confront one of the most challenging chapters of their relationship and put in serious effort to move forward,” our source said. “While their marriage still has moments of strain, both are committed to holding the family unit together and weathering difficulties rather than walking away.”
But that doesn’t mean Middleton wants Hanbury anywhere near her or her husband. “In 2019, Kate was very clear that Rose needed to be removed from her personal and social sphere, and she is now demanding that again,” one insider said.
“Whatever cordial relationship may have existed came to an immediate halt. The speculation left Kate feeling exposed and embarrassed, and she was determined to put as much space as possible between herself and anything that might revive those damaging narratives.”
Hanbury, who is married to David Rocksavage and has three children with him, has repeatedly denied the allegations. She and Middleton have not been seen together since the rumors were first reported.
If reports are to be believed, though, it is Hanbury’s increasing visibility that has pushed Middleton into setting firmer boundaries. “Any time Rose surfaces at an event connected to the royal world, it reopens old emotional wounds for Kate,” a former royal aide said.
“What once seemed like a harmless friendship is now colored entirely by the rumors, and the public speculation was deeply humiliating for her. Even now, the memory of it remains painful.”
And that’s why Middleton has chosen distance. “Kate has always guarded her private life carefully, and she finds it deeply frustrating that these rumors continue to resurface,” a source said. “It is less about retaliation and more about safeguarding her own emotional well-being. The feelings of jealousy and hurt have not fully disappeared, and she has no desire to repeatedly confront memories that reopen that painful chapter.”
