Everyone has been keeping an eye on the new Melania Trump documentary and on all the events that have taken place to promote it. The documentary, which is now in theaters, had its premiere on January 29th at the newly renamed The Donald J. Trump and the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center For the Performing Arts, after a screening of the film was done at the White House.
But who was present at the premiere? And who didn’t make it? Barron Trump was among the people who did not join his mother for the premiere of Melania, despite appearing on the cast list of the documentary. Ivanka Trump was also not present at the premiere event.

Eric Trump and his wife were also not in attendance, and neither was Tiffany Trump. Donald Trump Jr., however, was. He was joined by his fiancée, Bettina Anderson. And most of Trump cabinet members were also there, with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Education Secretary Linda McMahon, and Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins all walking the red carpet.
FBI Director Kash Patel, U.N. Ambassador Mike Waltz, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Jeanine Pirro, and Speaker Mike Johnson were also at the premiere.
The documentary follows first lady Melania Trump during the 20 days leading up to President Donald Trump’s second inauguration.
All of this comes as Melania Trump recently said her son Barron still requires her full-time attention, even if he is about to turn 20. “You need to be there for a child nonstop, especially when they need you, especially at that age that Barron is,” Melania said on Fox Business.
She has done her best to keep him out of the spotlight, particularly when he was younger. And unlike his siblings, Barron Trump doesn’t actually seem like he wants the attention. In 2024, Barron was invited to serve as a GOP delegate, but Melania told NPR that her son had “prior commitments” that kept him from joining his other siblings onstage at the convention. In July of that year, he appeared with his father at a rally, but didn’t speak. In general, he just hasn’t been seen much.
Recently, reports even indicated that Melania got very upset after a pastor publicly shared details of a phone call he had with Barron Trump. Pastor Stuart Knechtle revealed on a podcast that the younger Trump was “very close to putting his faith in Christ.”
Melania was said to be “furious,” the conversation was referenced in public. “Melania has always stressed discretion,” a source told Rob Shuter. “She believes her family’s private life is sacred. This? It’s a betrayal.”
“Melania exploded when she heard about it,” an insider added. “This isn’t just disappointment — it’s fury.”
“This isn’t about politics or religion. It’s about trust,” another insider said. “[Melania] has always tried to shield him from the spotlight.” And there were reportedly consequences. “Melania’s circle is circulating reminders about confidentiality,” a source revealed. “Everyone who works with the family knows: leaks will not be tolerated … Barron’s moment might have been innocent, but the betrayal? Devastating.”
