The whole drama with the pictures of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at Kris Jenner’s birthday party made a lot of news. It all happened like this: the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended Kris Jenner’s birthday party, and then both Kris and Kim posted pictures on Instagram with the pair.
All good there, right? No. Then the pictures of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle disappeared from Kris and Kim’s Instagram very soon after, reportedly at the request of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. And no one was happy with that. Rumors indicated Harry and Meghan weren’t pleased that pictures were even posted in the first place, and that the Kardashians were very upset they were asked to remove them after they were already online.

In fact, it got to the point where it seemed like there was a big feud brewing about these pictures. Kim was reportedly livid. Markle had reportedly not agreed to the pictures being posted online. Then she had, but she changed her mind. Five different versions of the same events were reported, each more dramatic than the previous one. Then came what was supposed to be the definitive explanation, the pictures were deleted because of the fact that it was Remembrance Day.
Now, Rob Shuter is reporting that Markle called Kris Jenner in panic after Kim was open about what happened and why both she and Kris deleted the pictures in the first place. But it wasn’t the fact that Kim deleted the pictures, but the fact that she confirmed they were deleted at the request of the Sussexes, and why that upset Markle.
“Meghan panicked the moment she realized Kim wasn’t spinning the story,” one insider said. “Kim made it sound simple, casual, and optics-based — and Meghan hated that.”
On Khloé Kardashian’s podcast, Kim explained that originally, permission had been given to post the photos. They weren’t posted without permission, and there was no drama there originally. But once the optics of Remembrance Day were considered, the decision was made to take them down. This happened after they had originally been posted. Simple. Makes sense. But it reportedly caused a lot of stress.
“Kim’s version made it sound like Meghan hadn’t fully thought it through,” a source explained. “And that is Meghan’s nightmare.”
Reportedly, that prompted a call from Markle to Kris Jenner about the situation and the words used. “Meghan wanted it framed as sensitive and complex,” another source said. “Kim framed it as, ‘Oops, no big deal.’ That disconnect triggered the panic.”
In the podcast, Kim Kardashian even joked about it, but reportedly, the Duchess of Sussex didn’t find it funny. “Kim leaned into honesty and humor,” one insider said. “Meghan wanted control.”
Back when the drama first started, it seemed like the combination of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and the Kardashians wasn’t exactly built to last. And with these latest revelations, it’s probably fair to say that this won’t end up being an everlasting friendship. Just two different ways to see the same thing.
