New England Patriots’ Drake Maye has a very supportive family. Growing up in a sports-centered household, his parents valued their four sons in whatever game they played.
Right before his first Super Bowl, Mayes recounted how his family would always be there for him. “My parents come to every game. They’re always here,” the 23-year-old quarterback said in January, adding of his brothers, “It’s just special sharing these moments with them and going home and probably playing ping-pong until 1:30 or something.”

So who raised Drake Maye to be the star football player he is today?
Drake Maye’s mom is Aimée Maye. She grew up in North Carolina and was the star basketball player at West Charlotte High School. She also went to the University of North Chapel, but opted not to pursue her sport.
While raising four boys, she often recounted the story of cooking 36 eggs for her sons, calling the story “by far the most popular,” per The News & Observer.
“I know for a fact every single time I made that meal, at the end of the meal, there was not a morsel of food left,” she said. “And some of the boys would be like, ‘I’m still hungry.’ And I’m like, ‘too bad.’ ”
Right before the Super Bowl, the New England Patriots praised his mom for helping him on his journey. ”She’s been there every step of the way,” He said. “I can’t thank her enough for how she’s raised us, including my dad.”
Drake Maye’s dad, Mark, is a sports coach and raised his 4 kids to be the star athletes they are today. He also went to UNC as a football player. He briefly played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but left due to injury.
He later got his M.B.A. and focused his time on coaching teams and especially his kids. In an interview with Mass Live, he explained how competition was absolutely normal in the household. “We emphasized winning,” Mark said. “We’d talk about, ‘Second is the first loser, man. It’s about winning.’ There’s such a difference. As the kids have gone along with their sports, the one-point losses, hey, the feeling with a one-point loss (compared to) a one-point win… sometimes you might not play good, but we emphasized win the game, then we’ll work on trying to fix (anything that’s wrong).”
“We don’t like losing, as a family,” Drake’s brother Cole said. “That’s been one of our core values that our parents instilled in us.”
He added: “Drake’s not really someone you want to piss off when he’s in a competitive mood and he’s out on the (court) trying to win.”
“Growing up, especially going to Carolina, he was my brother, and he was my dad’s son,” his other brother Luke said. “He just kinda wanted to make his own name. I said, ‘The only way you can make your own name is by performing.’ He really did that. He really stepped up and had an incredible career. Now I’m more of Drake’s brother. I think it’s pretty cool.”
