Everyone’s having to go on record about their opinions on the Epstein Files, and honestly, that feels like a good thing. There are so many big names implicated in the scandal and so many people who should have said something but decided not to, that it feels important that everyone is being held accountable now, even if it’s in many ways too little, too late. And one of the people the public is most interested in hearing from is the British royal family.
The former prince Andrew is, after all, heavily implicated in the Epstein files. So is his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson. So what did the family know and when? How much did they do to cover up Andrew’s scandals? And how do they feel about it now?

Prince William and Kate Middleton addressed Epstein for the first time, with the couple’s spokesperson saying on February 9, “I can confirm The Prince and Princess have been deeply concerned by the continuing revelations. Their thoughts remain focused on the victims.”
This is the first time the couple has directly addressed the scandal. Back when Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was stripped of his titles and ordered to vacate Royal Lodge in October 2025, reports indicated Prince William and Kate Middleton supported the King’s actions. The statement put out at the time ended with, “Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.”
Prince Edward recently commented on the files, while speaking at the World Governments Summit in Dubai on Tuesday, Feb. 3. When asked how he was coping with the controversy, according to The Independent, he said, “Well, with the best will in the world. I’m not sure this is the audience that is probably the least bit interested in that. They all came here to listen to education, solving the future.”
“But no, I think it’s all really important always to remember the victims, and who are the victims in all this, a lot of victims in all this.”
This comes months after reports that William and Andrew don’t really get along, and it’s all because of Kate. “The feud between Prince William and Prince Andrew started primarily due to Andrew’s jealousy and resulting disparaging remarks regarding Kate Middleton,” British royals expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News Digital. “Prince William was infuriated,” she explained at the time, “Being fiercely protective, he instituted a zero-tolerance policy toward any wayward behavior or scandals involving Prince Andrew.” And there have been many.
Royal author Andrew Lownie, who recently wrote a biography on Andrew, confirmed the issues between William and his uncle started with “rude” and “unkind” comments about Middleton.
Lownie told Fox News, “My source said Andrew was rude to Kate. And I think he was probably rude because he’s a real snob. He may have felt that Kate wasn’t aristocratic enough to marry William. While I can only speculate, no one has a harsh word to say about Kate Middleton. She’s been the savior of the royal family. Andrew gets jealous of people. He may even be jealous of William’s popularity. But I do know that when William comes to the throne, Andrew will be dust.”
