King Charles broke his silence on his brother Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s involvement in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.
The Thames Valley Police is investigating whether Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor allegedly shared confidential material with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein during the former prince’s role as UK trade envoy. “The King has made clear, in words and through unprecedented actions, his profound concern at allegations which continue to come to light in respect of Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor’s conduct,” Buckingham Palace said in the statement on Feb. 9.
“While the specific claims in question are for Mr Mountbatten-Windsor to address, if we are approached by Thames Valley Police we stand ready to support them as you would expect,” the spokesperson continued.
Prince William and Kate Middleton addressed the Epstein files just hours before the monarch. The couple’s spokesperson said on Feb. 9, “I can confirm The Prince and Princess have been deeply concerned by the continuing revelations. Their thoughts remain focused on the victims.”
When Andrew’s titles were stripped in Oct. 2025, Buckingham Palace noted that the monarch and Queen Camilla “wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.”
Prince Edward was the first royal family member to publicly speak about the newly released emails from the US Department of Justice. At the World Governments Summit in Dubai on Feb. 3, the King and Andrew’s youngest brother said, “It’s really important to remember the victims. And who are the victims in all this? A lot of victims in all this.”
The newly released emails allege that Andrew sent Epstein trade reports from a 2010 tour of Southeast Asia while he was serving as Britain’s envoy for international trade
The monarch’s statement comes right after RadarOnline reported that the monarch’s health is becoming super fragile due to the stress of his brother’s scandals. The ongoing stress has made the monarch “exhausted and anxious” about the royal family’s stability, and his health is at a “dropping point” physically.
One source told the site, “This is all killing him. Cancer alone would be enough, but Andrew’s scandals – now reignited by the latest Epstein files – are grinding Charles down. Every new revelation lands as he’s trying to heal.”
Another added: “There is real fear inside the palace that if the Andrew-Epstein saga escalates again, it could spell the end for a monarch already battling serious illness. The stress is relentless.”
