It’s been almost two weeks since Savannah Guthrie’s mom was kidnapped, and at this point, it feels like every second counts. That’s why all leads are being scrutinized, as the investigation has become a race against time. Where is Nancy Guthrie? Is she okay?
Now, investigators have uncovered a massive clue—a black glove, found near Nancy Guthrie’s house, according to The New York Post. The glove resembles the pair worn by the suspect caught on surveillance video trying to disable the camera outside Guthrie’s home. The glove was discovered after an extensive search of the neighborhood, and officials expect it will aid them in locating the missing 84-year-old woman.

Reportedly, law enforcement has been getting a great deal of tips since the photos and videos from the suspect were first published. “We appreciate the assistance and support we have received from the Tucson community,” the FBI said in a statement, where they also emphasized the $50,000 reward for information leading to Nancy Guthrie’s recovery.
There has been a flurry of activity in the case in the last few days. A man was detained in connection with the investigation, though he was later released without any charges being filed. The FBI also released surveillance photos and video of a potential subject obtained via Nancy Guthrie’s doorbell and security cameras. The suspect is seen wearing a ski mask, jacket, and gloves, and carrying a weapon. Everything from what the suspect was wearing to the few identifying features visible is being pursued as a lead.
In fact, one thing other than the glove that the police are reportedly looking at is the suspect’s gait. Former CIA member and FBI special agent Tracy Walder told RadarOnline: “I think (the suspect’s) gait is interesting.”
“While (their) walk is not overly distinctive, I do think that’s something the FBI could look at,” they added.
The image will help law enforcement to “build a physical profile,” and they will focus on everything from the “labels of the shoes” to “shoe size, gender, height and weight.”
Recent reports from TMZ indicate that law enforcement believes the kidnapper is from the Tucson area and is behind the first ransom note that was sent to TMZ and two local TV stations. In the note the kidnapper promised to return Nancy Guthrie within 12 hours of receiving the ransom, which has been set at 6 million. However, they reportedly did not provide proof of life.
Nancy Guthrie and her late husband Charles shared three kids: Savannah, Annie and Camron. The siblings have been active on social media in the past week and a half, asking for help and pleading with potential kidnappers.
They also said they would pay for her safe return. On a message posted on Saturday, February 7, Savannah Guthrie said. “We received your message and we understand. We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us and we will pay.”
