Ex-Prince Andrew‘s daughters, Princess Eugenie and Beatrice, are on opposite sides of his scandal involving late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
A source told The Daily Mail in a report published on January 17 that Eugenie is refusing to speak to Andrew and didn’t visit him during Christmas. According to the insider, Eugenie, who founded The Anti-Slavery Collective to counter sex trafficking, is firm on her stance to no longer speak to her father because of his association with Epstein.
“There is no contact at all, nothing. It’s Brooklyn Beckham level – she has completely cut him off,” the source said, referencing Brooklyn’s public feud with his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, over their alleged treatment of his wife, Nicola Peltz.
The Daily Mail’s source, however, revealed that Beatrice, Eugenie’s older sister, is more empathetic toward Andrew and even invited him to the christening of her 11-month-old daughter, Athena—whom she shares with her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi—in January. While Andrew was present at the christening, he did not attend the party afterward at a local pub. It’s also not clear if Eugenie, who also attended the christening, spoke to her father at the event.
“Beatrice is trying to walk the fine line of not cutting her father off and yet remaining close with the Royal Family,” the source said. “They aren’t exactly in regular and close contact at the moment, but Eugenie isn’t trying to walk that line. She’s not speaking to him.” Andrew shares Beatrice and Eugenie with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson.
The report came two days before Andrew was arrested on the morning of February 19—his 66th birthday—on suspicion of misconduct in public office following allegations he shared confidential information with Epstein while acting as a trade envoy for the U.K.
Andrew, who has denied any crimes in his relationship with Epstein, was arrested at his home at Charles’ Sandringham estate in Norfolk, England, where he had been living after he was forced to move out of his Royal Lodge residence in Windsor by Charles earlier this month.
A source told Rob Shuter’s “Naughty But Nice” Substack after Andrew’s arrest that the ex-prince was “furious” to be “woken up” by police. “He was woken up by officers. He genuinely couldn’t process that this was happening to him,” the insider said. “He wasn’t upset. He was furious. There was absolutely a ‘Do you know who I am?’ tone.”
Another source added, “It was arrogance, not panic. He seemed more insulted than afraid.”
