Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may finally be making their long-rumored return to the United Kingdom, and they could be moving right into ex-Prince Andrew’s former home.

A source told Rob Shuter’s “Naughty But Nice” Substack in a post published on March 1 that King Charles is considering offering the Duke and Duchess of Sussex Andrew’s former 30-room mansion at Royal Lodge as an “olive branch” should they move back to the U.K. “This would be the ultimate olive branch,” the insider said. “Charles wants unity. Offering Harry a significant Windsor property would send a powerful message that the door is still open.”

Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, moved out of Royal Lodge in February 2026, three months after Charles stripped him of his royal titles, including his HRH and prince monikers, in November 2025. For Charles, moving Harry and Meghan into Royal Lodge is also about keeping the couple, who relocated to Montecito, California in 2020, close. (Harry and Meghan previously lived in Frogmore Cottage, a five-bedroom home a lot smaller than Royal Lodge.) “It’s about keeping family close — geographically and emotionally,” the insider said. “Whether they accept is another matter.”

Harry and Meghan, however, aren’t so sure that Andrew’s former home is right for them. “The optics are tricky,” the source said. “Moving Harry and Meghan into Andrew’s old house ties them to a property that’s become synonymous with scandal. That’s a lot of baggage.”

The report comes after Harry declined to discuss Andrew’s arrest for misconduct in public office in February 2026. His arrest came after allegations he shared confidential information with late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein while acting as a trade envoy for the U.K. During an interview with Channel 4 News on February 27, Harry was asked about his work in Jordan.

‘I understand you don’t wish to talk about your family, your uncle, things back in London you’re here because you don’t want to distract from the work you’re doing on the WHO and on Gaza. Firstly why are you here in Jordan? Why is it so important to you?” the interviewer asked, to which Harry ignored the part about Andrew and focused his answer on his humanitarian work. “I think, having spoken to Dr. Tedros [WHO Director-General, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus] for many months now — well, years — but specifically months in the lead-up to this trip, it was really important for us to highlight the incredible work that Jordan does for this region,” he said.

The report also comes after a source told Shuter in February 2026 that Meghan, who was rumored to be opposed to returning to the U.K., has turned a new leaf after the downfall of Andrew and Fergie. “She feels vindicated,” the insider said. “There’s a sense of, ‘We tried to tell you.’”

The source continued, “She wants to show the British public what they threw away. It’s not anger — it’s confidence.”

The insider added that Meghan is already working with stylists and designers for her U.K. return. “The best wardrobe ever seen on a British royal,” the source said. She insider continued, “She’s not going back quietly,” the source adds. “If she returns, it will be on her terms.”
