The recent arrest of former prince Andrew has left the British royal family in the position of having to explain themselves. The ramifications of the scandal and Andrew’s connections to Jeffrey Epstein have put everyone close to him in a precarious position. But what’s this done to Andrew himself? How is he coping?

RadarOnline reports the former prince is now turning to God. Last weekend, Andrew reportedly received a visit from Reverend Canon Paul Williams, who stayed with Andrew for about an hour. This all comes as Andrew has been stripped of his titles and evicted from Royal Lodge. He’s now staying at Wood Farm in Sandringham.

“Life for Andrew has become strikingly solitary. Day after day, the only people coming through the gates are household staff, officers connected to the investigation, and the occasional supermarket delivery van. There is no sign of the social circle he once relied upon – it is a very quiet, very contained existence,” a source said.

There have not even been reports of his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, or his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, visiting him. And the King remains distant, as well.

“What stood out over the weekend was the distance between him and the King. Charles was in residence barely two miles away and was seen driving out and about, yet there was no visible contact between them. For two men on the same estate, it felt like worlds apart,” the same source said.

“Canon Williams’ arrival was unusual precisely because so few outsiders call in. He drove up the private track to Wood Farm and stayed for a while in what appeared to be a private conversation. The following morning, he was greeting the King warmly before church, the two of them chatting at length.”

It’s a big contrast. And some indicate the visit was not routine.

“Andrew has effectively withdrawn from the outside world. Public engagements have vanished, and even private appearances are rare. In that vacuum, religion has become one of the only steady frameworks left to him, and he appears to be embracing it more deliberately. There is a palpable sense that he is looking for comfort and direction, and is basically trying to find God.”

This all comes after reports that Andrew is considering renouncing his spot in the line of succession in order to avoid jail time. “He would sacrifice his place in a second if it keeps him out of a cell,” a source told Rob Shuter’s “Naughty But Nice” Substack. “Jail is the one outcome he cannot control.”

But reports indicate Andrew is trying to leverage even that, despite the continuing scandal over his association with Jeffrey Epstein. Among the things he’s asking for are guarantees that his daughters will keep their place in the British royal family. “He wants security for life,” the insider said. “A permanent grace-and-favor home, his horses settled at the new property, and written guarantees that his daughters keep their royal titles,” Shuter reported.

The insider added, “He’s negotiating comfort, not consequences. It’s slippery to the end.”
