Princess Beatrice has been in the spotlight the last few weeks, and it’s not because of anything she’s done. No, people are just curious about her reaction to the news of her father, ex-Prince Andrew, being arrested for suspicion of misconduct in public office. Then, of course, there’s the fact that his name and that of her mother, Fergie, are all over the Epstein files. But how does Beatrice feel about the way her parents are being treated?

Previously, there had been reports that Prince William and Kate Middleton got along with Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, but things appear to have shifted after what happened with Andrew. In fact, the Daily Mail is reporting that things were already weird since the royals’ annual Christmas Day walk.

Body language expert Judi James told the outlet that, “There is a type of smile known as a performed or applied rictus that is a wide smile that appears effortful and not prompted by authentic pleasure. Often the wider the smile, the more negative the emotions being masked, which could be why Beatrice’s smile here, as she waits for the Waleses to go first, hints at what could be awkwardness or dislike.”

Ouch.

She went on to add that Beatrice “begins in something of a huddle with her sister, where the smiles could suggest some conversation through gritted teeth as they watch William, Kate, and the children take the lead. The sisters seem to decide to shuffle off together to the left, where they stand together beaming their smiles at the group in front in a watchful rather than sociable way.”

Beatrice’s glance down at Waleses hints at some quiet impatience or discomfort at having to hang around dutifully and compliantly until they move on. There is no sign of any socialising between them here or any intent of catching Kate’s eye to make the smiles more sociably friendly.”

This all comes amid reports by Heat World UK that Andrew has “become completely fixated” on Kate Middleton.

Andrew has become completely fixated on Kate. He keeps going on about how she’s a ‘silent assassin’ who’s been quietly pulling the strings and whipping William into a frenzy about him,” an insider said. “He’s absolutely certain that major decisions about his future have been run past her and William, but instead of blaming William for getting him forced out he’s turned his wrath on Kate.”

The source added, “He has this warped belief that William is being controlled by her, that she’s whispering in his ear and turning him against his own blood. He’s saying she’s poisoned the well against him.”

According to the report, he is particularly hurt because he thought he and Kate were okay before. “What makes it sting even more for Andrew is that they used to be on perfectly good terms, she was always very polite and warm, he believed she genuinely liked him,” the source said. “Now she won’t give him the time of day and he’s seeing it as her deliberately freezing him out and using her influence to make sure he stays sidelined.”

“Andrew is absolutely seething and looking for someone to blame, and in his mind Kate has become the perfect villain,” the insider explained. “He’s convinced himself she’s far more powerful than she lets on, that she’s quietly steering decisions behind the scenes while maintaining this serene public image. He’s a very bitter man.”

It’s hard to tell if his daughters agree or if they would let that dictate their decisions. They have, after all, also kept their distance from their father since his arrest.

Family drama, not even the royals can escape it.
