One of the biggest questions people have been asking about the Andrew arrest is who in the British royal family knew about his connections with Jeffrey Epstein. And if they know, what exactly did they know? Queen Elizabeth II did, after all, pay for her son’s settlement with Virginia Giuffre. And Charles has been confronted by the public about the notion that he protected his brother until he couldn’t anymore.
But what about Andrew’s daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie? Royal expert Emily Andrews wrote in Woman and Home about what it would take for them to cut off their parents, saying the two are now in a “ghastly position.”

“Would it be cruel words? Hatred of your partner? Or how about being effectively loaned out to a convicted pedophile to bring some sort of veneer of respectability?” she said. According to her, now the sisters are forced to grapple with “the emotional toll of their parents’ mistakes.”
They’ve responded by stepping back from public life, and Andrews says “both princesses are walking a fine line between distancing themselves from their parents in public but supporting them in private.”
She was, however, clear. “There’s no suggestion that Beatrice and Eugenie knew about Epstein’s predilections,” Andrews said, “but the fact that Fergie and Andrew continue to protest their innocence is both beyond outrageous and totally predictable.”
“Fergie fled the UK after the latest drop of Epstein files,” Andrews wrote, reporting that she went “first to the French Alps and then to Qatar to spend time with Eugenie.” The question, for Andrews, is now, “will they keep standing by their mum?”
“My opinion is that yes, they will,” Andrews said. “She might be exiled by the public and indeed by the King after being banished from Royal Lodge, but I don’t think [her daughters will] turn their backs fully.” At least, not privately.
All of this comes after reports that the princesses have been banned from this year’s Royal Ascot in June, according to the Daily Mail. An insider told the outlet, “I’ve spoken to my friend who works at Ascot, and they said the girls have been told they can’t be there this year.”
“Beatrice has taken it the hardest. She’s been completely blindsided by all of this,” the source added.
RadarOnline had recently reported that the sisters are “shattered” by Andrew’s arrest. “Each fresh Epstein disclosure feels like a fresh blow for the sisters,” a source said. “Just when they think the worst of it might be behind them, something else surfaces and drags it all back into the spotlight. It’s completely emotionally exhausting for them,” the insider also added. “There’s a deep frustration that this controversy still overshadows so much of their lives. Beatrice and Eugenie can’t escape the association, whether in their professional work or their private circles, and that constant scrutiny takes a toll both behind closed doors and in the public arena.”
Now, it’s about what they do moving forward. “There’s embarrassment, yes, but also a great deal of sadness. At the same time, they’re realistic. They understand that how they respond now, the choices they make, the company they keep, and the image they project will shape their long-term standing. They’re thinking carefully about every step.”
