The British royal family has done its best to put distance between itself and the former prince Andrew. He has been stripped of his titles. He was evicted from Royal Lodge and is now living in a smaller property in Sandringham. When he was recently arrested for suspicion of misconduct in public office, King Charles released a statement saying the investigation must take its course.
But Andrew is still in the line of succession, and that’s reportedly something Prince William in particular, wants to change. A source told Examiner that William feels that Andrew “should have been removed from the line of succession immediately and cut out of royal life” when his connections to Epstein first surfaced.

“The fact that the situation with Andrew wasn’t dealt with ages ago is horrifying to him,” the source explained. “And even now he’s accusing his father of dragging his feet.”
“William believes Andrew needs to suffer serious consequences, including being cut from the line of succession. He wants to see it done quickly, rather than let this stain linger,” the source added. William reportedly feels that “they can’t let Andrew’s threats of retaliation derail them.”
How’s King Charles reacting? He reportedly “refuses to be pushed,” which is “causing some very explosive fights behind closed doors.”
And things between father and son are reportedly not good. “It doesn’t help that William was promised more responsibility and power, but that has not materialized,” the source added, “and he’s complaining that he feels frozen out.”
“The tension between them is obvious to everyone, and it’s only getting worse.”
Andrew is currently eighth in line for the British throne after Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, Prince Harry, Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet. “The cleanest way to remove him would be for Andrew to renounce his position himself. Otherwise, it would require coordinated legislation across all 56 Commonwealth realms — a constitutional headache no one wants,” a source told Rob Shuter’s “Naughty But Nice” Substack.
Sources also told the gossip journalist that Andrew is considering renouncing his spot to make sure he can avoid jail. “He would sacrifice his place in a second if it keeps him out of a cell,” the insider told Shuter. “Jail is the one outcome he cannot control.”
But there are reportedly other stipulations. Andrew wants guarantees that his daughters with Sarah Ferguson, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, will keep their place in the British royal family. “He wants security for life,” the insider said. “A permanent grace-and-favor home, his horses settled at the new property, and written guarantees that his daughters keep their royal titles.”
This comes after RadarOnline reported that the King is refusing to see Andrew, even in private. “The King understands better than anyone how quickly even the smallest gesture can be magnified when it involves the royal family. If he were seen visiting Andrew – even privately – it would immediately become the dominant headline and reignite the entire controversy,” a royal source said.
“Charles is therefore approaching the situation with extreme caution. His focus is on preventing the story from escalating further and shielding the monarchy from additional reputational damage.”
