What do we really know about the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s mom, Nancy? She was abducted over a month ago, and to this day, the police have very few solid leads. They have surveillance video of a potential suspect and recovered DNA, but are no closer to identifying anyone than they were a month ago.

But one of Guthrie’s neighbors has revealed a suspicious sighting a few weeks before the disappearance that could perhaps help police in their search for whoever kidnapped Nancy Guthrie. Aldine Meister spoke to NewsNation’s Brian Entin and described a “strange man” she saw a few weeks before Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance.

To the question of whether she’d seen anything strange in the neighborhood before Nancy Guthrie went missing, Meister said, “I did two weeks before. I have a picture window in my bathroom, and I see all the people walking by in the mornings.”

She added, “He was kind of hunched over, not in, you know, walking or hiking gear. He was dressed in a kind of street clothing. So, I thought that was weird, because that’s not normal,” with Meister confirming this was strange enough that “I said something to my husband and my mother.”

Meister shared this information with the FBI. “I told the FBI the day after they came here, and I discussed that with them.”

She expanded on her description, saying, “He was in kind of street clothes, not shoes that you’d walk in, and he had a baseball hat really low, and he was kind of hunched over, and he was kind of looking around, and he just didn’t fit.”

“And he wasn’t going terribly quickly, like a normal person that’s getting exercise, he’s kind of going slowly. And when he walked by this street, he really took a long look at it. I noticed that,” she said, referring to the street where Nancy Guthrie’s home is.

Police confirmed they are also investigating a damaged utility box around the corner from Nancy Guthrie’s home. They believe the equipment could be connected to a reported internet outage in the area around the time Guthrie disappeared.

Nancy Guthrie disappeared on February 1, over a month ago. And as of today, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI have not identified a suspect. The reward for information about Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance is up to $1 million.

Her family hasn’t shared as many social media videos lately as they did in the first days after her disappearance, with Savannah Guthrie back in New York—though not yet expected back on the Today show. One of the last videos shared, on February 24, showed the family hopeful yet resigned.

“We still believe in a miracle. We still believe that she can come home. Hope against hope. As my sister says, we are blowing on the embers of hope,” Savannah Guthrie said then. “We also know that she may be lost; she may already be gone. She may already have gone home to the Lord that she loves, and is dancing in heaven with her mom and her dad and her beloved brother, Pierce, and with our daddy. And if this is what is to be, then we will all accept it. But we need to know where she is. We need her to come home.”
