Keith Urban Reportedly Having ‘Midlife Crisis’ After Nicole Kidman’s Oscars Revenge Dress as Sources Claim He’s ‘Turned into a Different Person’—’She Doesn’t Know Him at All Anymore’
Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman are no more. After the longtime couple announced their split in September 2025, their divorce was finalized in January 2026. And though Kidman and Urban still share two daughters, most of the recent headlines about them have been separate. At least, until Kidman showed up at the Oscars to present Best Picture, looking radiant in what some have called a “revenge dress.”
Urban was nowhere to be seen. And according to Rob Shuter, he’s finding that’s the norm these days. “Keith used to be everywhere with Nicole,” one insider said. “Now he’s nowhere.”
But why? “He was always her plus-one,” the source explained. “He wasn’t getting those invites on his own.” Kidman, however, is still very much a movie star. “Nicole is still at the center of everything,” the insider added. “Keith isn’t part of that world without her.”
“He’s just not on those guest lists anymore,” the source went on to say. “Not without Nicole.” And that’s going to take some getting used to for Urban. “That access came with the relationship,” the insider said. “And now it’s gone.”
All of this comes after reports from the Daily Mail that Urban is going through a “midlife crisis” ever since the divorce. Let’s remember that reports about the separation indicated Kidman wanted to work on the marriage, but Urban didn’t. “Nicole and Keith don’t really communicate,” a source said. “Things got really bad at the end of their relationship and haven’t rebounded.”
“Keith seems to really want to live the single life, almost like a midlife crisis since the split. He’s turned into a totally different person. It’s like she doesn’t know him at all anymore.”
Recent reports also indicated that a new interview from his oldest daughter with Kidman, Sunday Rose, where she gushed about her mother but failed to mention him, left Urban feeling “numb.” He shares another daughter with Kidman, Faith Margaret, who is 14.
“He’s trying to put on a brave front,” a source told Australian outlet New Idea, with the report saying Urban was left feeling “like he doesn’t exist.” In the interview with Elle Australia, Sunday Rose said her mom was her “biggest inspiration in … life” and “a key part of everything” she does. She did not bring up her father.
“He knows he has to be patient; however, this latest snub – so publicly, there in black and white – has stumped him,” the source also added.
Kidman, meanwhile, attended the Oscars in a dress some are calling her “revenge dress,” and turned many heads while doing so. She was there to present the Best Picture award alongside former Moulin Rogue costar Ewan McGregor.
The dress, a powder-pink silk custom Chanel dress by Matthieu Blazy, featured a bustier embroidered with white and gray crystals and black beads, and a peplum waist made of beige, pink, nude, and apricot feathers that flowed into a skirt. For the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty, Kidman changed into a netted gold optical illusion gown, also from Chanel.
