Forget the awards, the stuff that was going on during the commercial break is what everyone is talking about post-Golden Globes and now, Timothée Chalamet has responded to Selena Gomez and Kylie Jenner’s alleged drama. In a telecast of the 81st Golden Globes, Only Murders In The Building star Selena was seen chatting to her friends Taylor Swift and Keleigh Sperry about what seemed to be something about Timothée Chalamet. The Midnights artist and Sperry were visibly shocked to which the latter appeared to gasp, “With Timothée?”
The Wonka star attended the lavish ceremony with his new girlfriend Kylie Jenner in one of their rare public appearances together. (Their PDA moments were one of the show’s highlights during the breaks). According to some fans/ameteur lip readers on the Internet, Selena told her pals, “I asked for a picture with him and she said no.”
However the day after The Golden Globes, a source close to Gomez told People that she was indeed not gossiping about Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet. The insider added that with Timothée and Kylie in particular, the “Single Soon” singer “never even saw or spoke to them” at the Globes.

Timothée Chalamet responded to Selena Gomez and Kylie Jenner’s drama when he was approached by TMZ while walking around Beverly Hills the Monday following the Globes.
“We straight up ask if the rumors that his GF, Kylie, denied Selena a photo of her and him were true — and after a lot of playful back-and-forth … Timbo says it’s BS,” the tabloid repoted. “Our photog asks if he and Selena are cool, and Timmy says … “of course.” And when we ask if there’s any truth to Kylie being a mean girl and snubbing Selena — he clearly says no.”
Timothée and Selena’s friendship goes way back to when they starred in the Woody Allen-directed rom-com A Rainy Day In New York together. When sexual abuse allegations against the director came out, Timothée pledged to donate his salary to charities. “I have been asked in a few recent interviews about my decision to work on a film with Woody Allen last summer,” he wrote on Instagram at the time, per The Guardian.
“I’m not able to answer the question directly because of contractual obligations. But what I can say is this: I don’t want to profit from my work on the film, and to that end, I am going to donate my entire salary to three charities: Time’s Up, the LGBT Centre in New York, and Rainn [the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network].” He added, “I want to be worthy of standing shoulder to shoulder with the brave artists who are fighting for all the people to be treated with the respect and dignity they deserve.”
Since then, Timothée appeared on one of Selena Gomez’s Instagram lives during the 2020 Presidential election to encourage her fans to vote. “Right now, I’m literally voting at my early voting station in New York at Madison Square Garden, which feels particularly metaphorical because I’ve seen many great things happen here,” Timothée told Selena during their Instagram Live chat. “It’s really moving to see this many people show up. It feels like people are motivated and everyone’s telling young people to vote.”
Selena also talked about her own voting experiences. “I really wanted to go to do it in person but I couldn’t for certain situations…I got the ballot, and it was so much fun,” she said.
