After a grueling and emotional part three to the Bravo reunion, many Real Housewives fans might be wondering if Monica was actually fired from RHOSLC.
Monica Garcia is one of seven cast members on Season 4 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Bravo’s reality TV series following the personal and professional lives of wealthy women in and around Salt Lake City, Utah. The cast also includes Housewives Heather Gay, Lisa Barlow, Meredith Marks, and Whitney Rose; new Housewife Angie Katsanevas; and Friend Mary Cosby.
In The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 4 finale, Monica, who joined as a cast member in the current season, was revealed to be behind the reality TV Instagram fan account Reality Von Tease, which has dozens of posts slamming former cast member Jen Shah, as well as the rest of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast.
“Monica is not who she says she is,” Heather told Whitney, Lisa, and Meredith in the finale. “She’s not our friend. She’s someone that has schemed and worked to infiltrate our friend group. And the name that you all know her as, the woman whose birthday was celebrated, who we’ve been trying to champion and support and defend is Reality Von Tease.”
In the season 4 reunion, Monica shouted at Heather and Lisa Barlow: “Heather, shut the f—k up. Your hair girls, [are] Reality Von Tease. It’s six people. It’s six people Lisa, and you don’t know what you’re talking [about].”
Monica later confirmed she was one of the people running the account with a series of Instagram photos on her own account. The photos showed Monica holding fake newspapers with the headlines: “Reality Von Tease Exposed. Salt Lake City’s Very Own Gossip Girl” and “Monica Garcia is Reality Von Tease!!!! Real-Life Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liar.” The post also included a photo of Monica holding a newspaper on fire with the sentence written on it. “Warming my hands on the bridges I’ve burned.”
However, there was one shocking revelation in part three of the reunion. Here’s if Monica was fired from RHOSLC.

Was Monica Fired From RHOSLC? Monica was not fired, but she is not returning for season five of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
“The women just need a cooling off period, and I think it’s just too soon,” showrunner Lori Gordon told Variety following the explosive finale and Part Three of the reunion. “They’ve articulated it. It’s too soon for them to reenter into a friendship — a trusting friendship. Not enough time has passed.”
SVP of Shed Media Lisa Shannon added that they would be “starting to film relatively soon, and I think that everyone needs a minute.” However, on whether Monica will return to the show, Shannon added “Never say never. You never know.”
Andy Cohen told Variety, “I think that if Monica had come out and was able to sway even one of the women back on to her side, then it might be a different conversation right now,” he says. “But she didn’t do that.”
During the reunion, Cohen asked Heather Gay about her true reaction to the news. “Variety has just broken the news that Monica is going to be taking a break from the show,” Andy Cohen said, before turning to Gay and asking, “Your reaction to that is?”
Gay asked if Monica’s mom was “in the running” as a replacement. “I mean, what Monica never got is that it was a show about friendship and she was not interested in being any of our friends,” Gay said. “And I’m just looking forward to filming with, you know, Whitney (Rose) and Meredith (Marks) and Lisa (Barlow) and Angie (Katsanevas).”
Adding, “They’re my actual friends and we have a great time together.”
Heather told Variety about her true feelings behind the new cast member and the exact moment she found out her secret. “No, I never suspected for a second that Monica was Reality Von Tease until Tenesha told me on the phone: “There’s something you need to know: Monica is Reality Von Tease.” It was that simple of a sentence. That’s all she had to say in the moment. My stomach dropped, and everything came into play. I realized it made sense how she knew so much in such different ways about all of our lives, and that she — I can’t explain it. It just was revelatory. It was like the mask was off. Nothing about her life made sense! She couldn’t make a car payment, but she had a Range Rover. She wanted to buy a Louis Vuitton, but she couldn’t pay her bills.”
As to filming the next season without Monica, she stated, “We start filming Feb. 5, so just in a few short weeks we’ll be filming again. And I’m really looking forward to hanging out with my friends, to feeling that bond that we had in Bermuda, to revisiting it — and to, of course, drinking and fighting amongst them shortly thereafter. We’ll relish in the bond and in our good favor, and then we will immediately destroy it as we often do.”
