Setting the rumors to rest. Reba McEntire responded to the Taylor Swift rumors where she called the “Lover” singer a “spoiled brat.” An internet group alleged that the “I’m A Survivor” singer observed Swift’s actions at the Super Bowl and called her out on it.
McEntire quickly put the situation down as she posted the screenshot on Instagram. “Please don’t believe everything you see on the Internet,” McEntire wrote in the caption. “I did not say this. Taylor is a wonderful artist, strong role model and has done so much good for so many people and the music industry.”
Many fans came to McEntire’s defense. One top commenter wrote, “They spelled your name McIntire. So made up story AND a lazy proofreader! 😂.” Another responded, “People saying they wish Reba said this…weird behavior. You wish she was unnecessarily confrontational with a fellow artist? To what end?”
The post came from a Facebook page called America Loves Liberty, where it read, ” “Reba McIntire [sic] talks about how disappointed she was to look up at the big screen while performing The National Anthem, only to see Taylor Swift laughing and drinking and making a mockery of the event.” The legendary country singer sang “America The Beautiful” at Super Bowl LVII. Taylor Swift attended to support her boyfriend Travis Kelce who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Meanwhile, Reba McEntire has expressed her love for Taylor Swift in the past—even jokingly saying that she’s jealous of her relationship with Kelce. “Oh, my gosh, I am so mad at her because I had a crush on him,” McEntire told Today.
“Now I can’t have a crush anymore because he’s dating her. I was so devastated,” she says, referring to Kelce as her “boyfriend that cheated on” her.
