He was only 27 when he passed and as is often the way with these sorts of tragedies, fans have sought out and found eerie foreshadowing for how Chance Perdomo died on his social media accounts. The actor is best known for the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, opposite Kiernan Shipka.
Born on October 19, 1996, in Los Angeles, California, Perdomo was raised in England. His career had certainly begun building momentum, with the role of Andre in Prime Video’s Gen V—a prequel to the acclaimed series The Boys. Season 2 of Gen V was something that the actor was excited about. “I think Andre’s journey is one from weakness to strength,” Perdomo told Variety. “There’s an adage that says, if you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything. And I think he’s quite numb in his life and he’ll fall for anything.”
He continued: “Going into Season 2, I hope he tries to explore ways to be able to optimize the usage of his powers so that he can do the bare minimum for maximum effect, because there’s no world in which he can’t use his powers, but he has to find a way to be able to find a nice balance. And I think when we find them at the end, he’s invigorated, he knows more so what kind of hero he wants to be.”
He concluded: “He comes in to join the fight, despite knowing what that would do to him. So I think he’s got a very interesting hero’s journey to figure out, how best can I be a hero without killing myself? And then the question is, is he willing to go out and kill himself for the right cause?” So what happened to this promising young actor and how did Chance Perdomo die? Read on.
Chance Perdomo died in a fatal motorcycle accident on Sunday March 30, 2024. Local authorities said there were no other individuals involved in the accident.
His representative confirmed the news to multiple outlets, announcing: “On behalf of the family and his representatives, it is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Chance Perdomo’s untimely passing as a result of a motorcycle accident,” in a statement. “His passion for the arts and insatiable appetite for life was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth will carry on in those who he loved dearest.”

Meanwhile, the producers of Gen V wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “We can’t quite wrap our heads around this. For those of us who knew him and worked with him, Chance was always charming and smiling, an enthusiastic force of nature, an incredibly talented performer, and more than anything else, just a very kind, lovely person. Even writing about him in the past tense doesn’t make sense. We are so sorry for Chance’s family, and we are grieving the loss of our friend and colleague. Hug your loved ones tonight.”
After the news broke, fans took to his Instagram comments section to express their condolances. They also noticed some eerie things, including a post he shared less than two weeks before his death. “Day 77. Final calm before storm. #backontheroad,” he captioned a post of three pictures; two selfies and one of a motorcycle. “This post is genuinely haunting now,” observed one follower. “they always leave clues on how they’ll go…” wrote another.
Actors and colleagues paid tribute to the late actor on social media. “This hurts. A lot. What a young talented actor, and a great friend — gone way too soon. Was a pleasure to work with him in GenV,” Patrick Schwarzenegger shared in a post on X.
Ted Sarandos, co-CEO of Netflix, shared his thoughts in an Instagram post. “Chance was a gifted young actor lost too early,” he wrote. “He was so great to work with on The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Everyone at Netflix is sending love and strength to Chance’s entire family and his big family of friends.”
In an interview posted on social media, Perdomo recalled a conversation he had with his mother when he was about 2 years old. He told her he had two things he aspired to. “She said, ‘What do you want to be?’” he said. “I said I want to be the first Black president of the United States, and I want to be on ‘Barney.’”
