Her husband dated the world’s biggest pop star, and Calvin Harris’ wife Vick Hope just revealed how she feels about Taylor Swift. Turns out, she’s a fan too. Harris and Swift were an item for just over a year between 2015 and 2016, while Harris and Vick started dating in January 2022 and tied the knot in September 2023.
Speaking during an episode of her radio show Going Home With Vick, Katie and Jamie on April 8, 2024, she said Swift is on the playlist whenever Harris isn’t around. “As soon as my husband goes away, I listen to Taylor Swift,” Vick admitted. “That’s just when I get my little fill. Just a little fill.” She continued: “[I] Just [listen to] a couple of songs, get it out of my system, and then it’s done.”
When Harris and Swift broke up, a source told People at the time that Harris—who is believed to have inspired songs like “I Forgot That You Existed”—was “intimidated” by Swift’s success. “[Harris] said on multiple occasions that he was intimidated by Taylor, which is why he would not attend any events where she was being honored, or any award shows unless he was nominated,” the insider said.
Swift and Harris seemed to deny the report in a tweet at the time. “The only truth here is that a relationship came to an end & what remains is a huge amount of love and respect,” Harris wrote in a tweet, which Swift retweeted.
In 2017, Harris was criticized for going on a Twitter tirade against his ex, venting his frustrations on Twitter after it was confirmed that Swift wrote Harris’ summer hit “This Is What You Came For.”
“I figure if you’re happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex bf down for something to do. I know you’re off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy [Perry] ETC but I’m not that guy, sorry. I won’t allow it, ” Harris wrote at the time, in a since-deleted series of tweets. “Please focus on the positive aspects of YOUR life because you’ve earned a great one. God bless everyone have a beautiful day.”
“It was completely the wrong instinct,” Harris reflected in a British GQ magazine. “I was protecting what I see as my one talent in the world being belittled. It felt like things were piling on top of me and that was when I snapped… Now I see that Twitter thing as a result of me succumbing to pressure … For both of us it was the wrong situation. It clearly wasn’t right, so it ended.”
