A Telling Clue That Taylor Swift & Brittany Mahomes’ Friendship Might Be on the Rocks
Are they just friends on the bleachers? There have been rumors swirling that Brittany Mahomes and Taylor Swift’s friendship is falling apart. Sources close to Patrick Mahomes’ wife and the Grammy Award winning artist revealed that not everything is what it seems in pictures.
The two seemed to be very close when Taylor Swift‘s boyfriend Travis Kelce and Brittany Mahomes‘ husband Patrick were playing during the 2023-2024 NFL season—sitting next to each other at games, going out to fancy dinners, and even having a secret handshake. It all took a turn in December 2023, Brittany Mahomes posted a picture of herself in Skims pajamas as part of a campaign for the brand. The brand is owned by Taylor Swift’s rival Kim Kardashian, whom she supposedly wrote a diss track for in her new album The Tortured Poets Department. Sources close to Brittany Mahomes say that it was “super strange” that she did the campaign.

‘It truly showed how loyal she is to her friends. And Brittany chose money over friendship, which says a lot,’ a source told Daily Mail. She’s reportedly “acting like Taylor’s BFF” because she “is desperate to be known” and wants to be seen as more than “a trophy wife to an NFL star.”
Another source told the site, “She has tried so hard to insert herself into Swift’s circle. She has wanted to be relevant for so long and finally found her in,’ and also suggested that her Skims ‘betrayal’ is very revealing.
“She has too many red flags and people are starting to see through her fake and bitchy persona,” they continued. ‘She is an opportunist who is clearly not a girl’s girl.” However, the “Lover” singer is ‘too busy’ to see right through Brittany’s personality.
The allegations against Mahomes comes after her tweet was resurfaced. “Taylor Swift, I wanna know when you’re gonna find something different to write about besides boys and relationships #timeforsomethingnew,” she wrote in 2012.
Of course, she would excuse it as tweets written by a ‘a stupid teenager’ and insist that “she loves Taylor’s music now.” However, it won’t pass by the girl squad. “It just doesn’t sit well with Taylor’s friends,” the source said. ‘People have started seeing through Brittany’s bulls***. If Taylor wasn’t dating her husband’s teammate, no doubt Brittany would still be talking s***.”
When the football season returned on September 6, 2024, Brittany and Taylor attended the Chiefs game, but weren’t seen together. “I’m feeling fantastic,” Swift said in a video interview with fellow WAG Chariah Gordon. “We won!” The lack of interaction comes after Brittany came under fire for liking a post from Donald Trump’s Instagram account that outlined his plan to “make America great again,” which included 20 line items such as “keeping men out of women’s sports” and “cutting federal funding for any school pushing Critical Race Theory.” Weeks prior, Donald Trump used AI generated images of Taylor to support his campaign.
Speaking of the Chiefs, Taylor slyly referenced their Super Bowl win in her song “So High School” in The Tortured Poets Department. Taylor sings “Shirts off, and your friends lift you up, over their heads / Beer stickin’ to the floor, cheers chanted ’cause they said / ‘There was no chance trying to be the greatest in the league’ / Where’s the trophy? He just comes, running over to me,” in a pretty clear nod to the Kansas City Chiefs win at the 2023 Super Bowl.
