So when Affleck and Jennifer Lopez reunited in 2021, apparently Damon had some thoughts that it might not be such a great idea. Rumors that Bennifer is headed for divorce continue to swirl—maybe Damon saw it coming.

“Matt tried to warn Ben when he got back together with J-Lo that this could happen,” an insider told DailyMail.com of the couple’s reported impending split. “Matt was there to help Ben get it together after their first split and he felt like this would happen again.”
The source continued: “As things started falling apart, Matt told Ben that he supports whatever choice he makes but wants him to jump in and focus on his work. Ben spent so much time focusing on J-Lo’s projects just like he did the first time around. He told Ben, ‘What has she ever done for your career?'”
Rumors of Affleck and Lopez’s divorce began rumbling in May 2024—In Touch was the first to report the news. “The writing is on the wall—it’s over. They’re headed for a divorce—and for once, [Ben’s] not to blame!” a source told the outlet. “He’s focusing on his work and his kids now. Ben already moved out and they’ll likely have to sell the dream house they spent two years searching for. They’ll never stop loving each other, but she can’t control him, and he can’t change her. There’s no way it could have lasted.”
While some insider sources can be taken with a grain of salt, warning bells started to ring when the couple quietly listed their marital mansion up for sale. The Daily Mail reported the house was appearing on Zillow.com. The couple is reportedly working with realtor Santiago Arana from The Agency, founded by Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Mauricio Umansky, sources told TMZ on June 8.
