They’re two of the biggest names in pop music, and while showbiz loves to pit women against each other, Sabrina Carpenter and Taylor Swift‘s friendship is seemingly really pure. But fans began to worry if Carpenter’s campaign with SKIMS—Kim Kardashian’s shapewear brand—jeopardized their relationship. After all, it’s pretty safe to call Swift and Kardashian full-blown enemies.
Carpenter actually got her career started covering Swift’s songs on YouTube and in 2009, tweeted about how much she wanted to meet her. Cut to 15 years later, Carpenter opened for her idol during the Australian leg of the Eras Tour. Here’s the latest on their friendship.

As far as we can tell, yes! Like we said, Carpenter’s campaign with Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS seemed to rub some fans up the wrong way given that Swift and Kardashian are somewhat mortal enemies, mostly due to the fact that Kim took Kanye’s side in that feud.
“Touring with Taylor but supporting Kim?” one person commented under the post that Carpenter shared. “WITH THE SNAKE KIM ??NOOOOOOOOOOOOO 💔,” another person commented. One person gushed at the photos, but had some reservations, “oh honey you’re gorgeous but not this brand…”
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Carpenter responded to the backlash. “As much as people want to believe you’re tuned into every little thing, I’m not because I’m constantly working,” she said. “In that scenario, I’ve been very, very communicative with her about that situation, and I just love her so much and support her till the end. So it was no weirdness for me, but I know people will just say things because that’s all they have time to do.”
In case you need a refresher, the feud between Swift and Kim Kardashian was reportedly instigated after Kim released a snippet of a conversation on Snapchat in 2016 between Taylor and her then-husband Kanye West where he shared a line of his song “Famous” to the referred to “Bad Blood” musician.“ To all my Southside N—s that know me best, I feel like Taylor Swift might owe me sex,” to which Taylor replied, “That’s not mean!”
However, Taylor was unaware of the line “I made that bitch famous” according to her reps. Taylor and Kanye have been in a feud since 2009 when he bombarded her on stage at the MTV Video Music Awards to tell her that Beyoncé deserved her VMA more.
