Amy Schumer Revealed She’ll be Opening For Madonna With an Amazing Childhood Video
Going to see Madonna in concert just got a whole lot … funnier. In some pretty awesome news, Amy Schumer will open for the superstar during the New York leg of her upcoming “Rebel Heart tour.” The comedian took to Twitter to make a #TBT themed announcement—and brilliantly dug up an old video of herself a kid belting out “Like a Prayer.”

For her part, Madonna seemed equally psyched about the announcement, and seems well-aware of the Schumer frenzy.

We’re not entirely surprised by the news: The queen of reinvention has always had a knack for aligning herself with stars popular among a younger generation (“Me Against the Music,” anyone?)
Madonna’s most recent news-making video dropped earlier this week, and featured the cream of the crop of today A-listers: Miley Cyrus, Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Chris Rock, Diplo, and Kanye West.
The song is aptly titled, “Bitch I’m Madonna,” and the tour seems likely to serve as an IRL reminder of that truth.
If you’re in New York this fall, you can catch the very popular Schumer (yeah, and Madge, too) at Madison Square Garden on Sept. 16 and 17, and at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Sept. 19. And, as of now, tickets are still available.
