With the birth of her son, York Banks Asla, Tyra Banks became Mama Fierce—but the newest Top Baby wouldn’t have been possible without a surrogate, and TyTy is hardly the first celebrity to use one to expand her family. Stars like Elizabeth Banks, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Neil Patrick Harris all relied on surrogates, too.

The late-night comedian and his wife revealed that they used a surrogate to carry their daughter, Winnie Rose, who was born in the summer of 2013. “It wasn’t really a secret, but my wife and I have been trying for a while to have a baby,” the funnyman told the “Today” show. “And so we’ve tried a bunch of things. And so we had a surrogate.”

The Hunger Games actress and her husband welcomed both of their children, Magnus and Felix, through gestational surrogacy (which is different from a surrogate because the child is biologically theirs and implanted through IVF). “This experience has exceeded all expectations, taught us a great deal about generosity and gratitude, and established a relationship that will last a lifetime,” Banks wrote on her website.
