05/05/16: Just after her very public feud with Nicki Minaj, Demi Lovato went on a late-night Twitter rant, presumably over her followers’ reaction to the shade-throwing that went down yesterday. She started with a cryptic tweet that said, “Sometimes there’s more to the story.”
Things escalated from there, with the addition of a single middle-finger emoji and nine more heated tweets. Here’s what she posted overnight:
Sometimes there's more shit going on than you see. Maybe you DON'T know every aspect of my life so maybe you shouldn't assume you know. 🖕🏻

Or maybe I rant online because people assume they know things and their entitlement to know makes me feel obligated to defend myself

At least I'm honest.

I'd rather annoy people with my honesty and loud opinions than stay silent and be fake as fuck. #lasttweetofthenight #goingtosleep ✌🏼️

05/04/16: Nicki Minaj and Demi Lovato have perfected the art of passive-aggressive feuding, using Instagram and Snapchat to throw shade back and forth—and back again.
It all started with one Instagram post, shared by Minaj, in which she “forgot” to tag Lovato, but conveniently remembered to tag designer Jeremy Scott, who was also in the snap. Hmm.
According to some observant Instagram users, Lovato commented on the rapper’s post with a laughing emoji, peace sign, and thumbs up, before posting a similar picture to her own account. In this one, Minaj is either throwing her some serious shade or has the most chronic case of RBF we’ve ever seen. Lovato wrote in the caption, “some of y’all need to learn how to take a joke. I’m obviously laughing at the fact that 1. I look incredibly awkward and 2. That the shade being thrown in this picture actually gives me life.”
That’s not the end of it though—the Instagram post was also accompanied by a Snapchat selfie, in which the “Old Ways” singer wrote, “When you aren’t mentioned in a post but didn’t do s–t to the other person…”
Minaj hasn’t addressed Lovato’s posts, but she’s hardly one to avoid confrontation, so it’s really just a matter of time.
