George Kittle and Travis Kelce are two of the hottest tight ends in the NFL and it’s nice to know there’s a playful quality to their relationship, even though Kittle’s San Francisco 49ers lost out the most recent Super Bowl to Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs. Kittle took a cheeky jab at Kelce for not appearing in Netflix‘s Receiver documentary series.

Receiver follows five of the NFL’s best pass catchers throughout the 2023 season on and off the field, including Kittle, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Justin Jefferson, Davante Adams, and Deebo Samuel. Of course, Kelce fits this criteria—in 2023, he caught 93 passes for 984 yards and five touchdowns.

Why isn’t Travis Kelce in Receiver?

Kittle joked to Us Weekly, “I think Travis was just worried that he wouldn’t have enough exciting things going on in his life.” He continued, “He just didn’t want to disappoint the viewers at home. That’s all it was.”

During an appearance on the Bussin’ With the Boys podcast in June, Kelce explained that he had been approached by Netflix, but he declined. “I’m way over the reality s–t. I’m out on that s–t,” he said.

Kelce’s teammate Patrick Mahomes participated in the first season of Netflix’s Quarterback series, too. “After Pat did it, I did get asked about it,” Kelce said on the podcast. “I don’t know. I’d rather just play ball, man. I’m already doing enough with the podcast and everything.”

Kelce has done reality TV before, way back when. Yes, in 2016, the tight end had his own reality dating show on the E! Network called Catching Kelce, where 50 women representing each of the 50 states took a chance to win Kelce’s heart. Maya Benberry from Kentucky was Kelce’s first-draft pick in the end.
