There’s a new Instagram feature making it clear that the app not only supports your little social-media-stalking habit but is doing everything possible to empower your creeping. The new feature, which is currently being tested by the photo-sharing platform, lets you search a specific person’s followers and the list of people they’re following by having the ability to simply type their name into a search bar, as opposed to scrolling (and scrolling) to see if two people were following each other.
Mashable first reported on the feature, and it appears Instagram is still only testing the update with a small group of users. (My ’Gram, for example, is still showing up with the old lists and no search function; however, some people are reporting a new search bar appearing under their accounts, like this.)
Unsurprisingly, as soon as users started noticing the search box, they took to Twitter to thank Instagram for making it that much easier to be shady.
