One hundred celebrities have pledged to do whatever it takes to defeat Donald Trump in a #UnitedAgainstHate petition started by MoveOn.org. Their names appear in an open letter to voters that not only calls out Trump’s rhetoric and policies for being exclusionary, degrading, and harmful, but also invites everyone to join the cause.
We believe it is our responsibility to use our platforms to bring attention to the dangers of a Trump presidency, and to the real and present threats of his candidacy … That is why we need to unite before it is too late—for the sake of our fellow Americans and for the sake of our democracy—and why it is so critical for those of us with the privilege to speak out to do so loudly and forcefully, in our work, online, and in our communities, with all the resources we have at hand.
The petition itself is signed by actors, musicians, designers, and filmmakers, including Lena Dunham, Chloë Grace Moretz, Lizzy Caplan, Illana Glazer, Kerry Washington, Abbi Jacobson, Bryan Cranston, Dita Von Teese, Russell Simmons, Zoe-Lister Jones, and more.

It was a well-timed move, considering Hillary Clinton officially became the Democratic nominee for president last night at the Democratic National Convention. While Elizabeth Banks hosted the evening and Lena Dunham, Meryl Streep, and America Ferrera spoke, other celebrities took to Twitter to react to Hillary’s official nomination. See what they had to say below.
