Zach Bryan is back with his first album since his dramatic breakup with his ex-girlfriend, Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia, but how much did she influence his new EP?

Bryan’s comeback to country music came on January 9, 2026, with his sixth studio album, With Heaven on Top, which featured multiple songs with lyrics about his split from Chickenfry, an influencer and the host of the Barstool Sports podcast, “BFFs.” Bryan and Chickenfry split in October 2024. After the announcement, Chickenfry accused Bryan of emotionally abusing her during their relationship and claimed that he offered her $12 million and an apartment in New York City to sign an NDA promising that she wouldn’t talk about their relationship.

Fast forward to 2026, and it looks like Bryan is finally telling his side of the story. But is one of his most popular songs from With Heaven on Top, “Runny Eggs,” about Chickenfry? Read on to find out.

Are Zach Bryan’s “Runny Eggs” lyrics about Brianna Chickenfry?

Bryan makes a reference to Chickenfry in “Runny Eggs” but as a whole the song is about memorable moments in Bryan’s life that have happened since his career started. “I’m gonna play me a show to ten thousand In thе middle of the snow in the Colorado mountains,” Bryan sings in the song, referencing his 2022 performance at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver, Colorado during a snowstorm.

While the song isn’t about Chickenfry, Bryan, who sings “Runny Eggs” in future tense, does sing about his relationship with his wife, Samantha Leonard Bryan, whom he dated after his split from Chickenfry.” And I’m gonna book me flight to Pamplona Take a horn to the chest like I’m back in Oklahoma / Find a lady with some big old Spanish eyes / Find out where all my old lovе lies,” Bryan sings in “Runny Eggs,” referencing the time he and Leonard attended the famous Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain, together in July 2025. They later returned to the country for their wedding on New Year’s Eve in December 2025.

While Bryan doesn’t reference Chickenfry much in “Runny Eggs,” he does have a scathing lyric about her in his other song, “Slicked Back,” in which he shades his ex-girlfriend’s social media career. “Used to know some folks who put it all online but you paint landscapes in the evening time,” he sings in the song, comparing Chickenfry’s influencer work to Leonard’s art as a painter, which Bryan has shared on his Instagram before.

Bryan also slammed Chickenfry in his song, “Skin,” in which he cryptically sang about wanting to take a “blade to my old tattoos” in order to drain “the blood between me and you.” “I’m taking a blade to my own skin/And I ain’t ever touching yours again,” he sings, referencing Chickenfry’s tattoo of lyrics from Bryan’s song “28” on the back of her arm. “How do tattoos take to your skin? Does your higher ground ever sink in? Do you love people just to win when it’s over?”

He also criticized his ex for talking bad about her friends. “Do you still talk shit on all of your friends?/Need to take it all to the chin this time stone-cold sober,” he sings.

Zach Bryan’s “Runny Eggs” full lyrics

[Intro]
I’m not even gonna run with the bulls
I’m gonna jump on the motherfucker’s back and ride it
I might die, hehe

[Chorus]
I’m gonna buy me some a real fast car
And drive to California where the heartless are

[Verse 1]
Find a diner in the desert, eat some real runny eggs
Tear down all the photos that are hung in my head
And I’m gonna book me flight to Pamplona
Take a horn to the chest like I’m back in Oklahoma
Find a lady with some big old Spanish eyes
Find out where all my old lovе lies

[Verse 2]
And I’m gonna play me a show to ten thousand
In thе middle of the snow in the Colorado mountains
Watch my father and my sister and my friends find peace
I’ll sing the wrong damn song in the wrong damn key
But no matter where I go, I pray to always find home
Travel round and eat those runny eggs alone
In a diner on the edge of California and Nevada
Wish I had known the good times back when I had them

[Verse 3]
And I’m gonna walk me the streets of West Village
In the middle of the summer with the evening time stillness
Watch Nate break his ankle after too many rounds
After tearin’ Brooklyn to the goddamn ground
And I’m gonna talk to God in some church
After years, beers, and fears, and too much work
Tell him I’m sorry for the way that I am
And using his name before saying “damn”

[Chorus]
And I’m gonna buy me some a real fast car
And drive to California where the heartless are

[Instrumental Break]

[Outro]
How you thought you was a gentleman back when you was young
Maybe I’ll find Jesus when the morning comes
Maybe I’ll find Jesus when the morning comes
Maybe I’ll find Jesus when the morning comes
