Harry Styles Revealed His ‘Aperture’ Lyrics Years Before the Song Was Released—But What Does the Single Mean?

It’s time, Harries. Four years after his Grammy-winning album, Harry’s House, Harry Styles made his grand return to music with his new song, “Aperture,” the lead single from his fourth album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally.

After months of rumors, Styles officially announced his new album with an Instagram post in January 2026, which included the cover and title of his upcoming LP. Less than a week after the album’s announcement, Styles revealed that the first single from Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally—which is set to be released on March 3—would be titled “Aperture.” Days before “Aperture’s” release, Styles also held listening events for the song in cities like Sydney, Tokyo, Berlin, and New York City.

What are Harry Styles’ “Aperture” lyrics about?

At a listening event in New York City, fans described “Aperture” as disco and compared the song to rapper Lil Uzi Vert. “It was kind of giving Jersey [Club] beat, or Lil Uzi Vert,” one fan told Rolling Stone, calling the song “everything disco, everything techno.” “I was expecting more of the soul, R&B aspect, because that’s what it felt like he was hinting at. But it was completely different.”

The word “aperture” is often referred to the opening in a photographic lens that admits light. The chorus from “Aperture” includes the line “we belong together,” which was featured in a voice memo Styles sent to fans before the announcement of his new album. “We belong together” was also prominently featured on a website fans discovered for Styles’ new album before the announcement.

The phrase was also seen on a screen at Styles’ Love on Tour concert in Reggio Emilia, Italy, in July 2023, after he performed his song, “Forever, Forever.” (Styles’ upcoming tour to promote Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally is titled Together, Together.”
