Who is hosting the 2024 iHeart Radio Music Awards? Ludacris will be emceeing the 2024 ceremony in Los Angeles. The upcoming event will see the 46-year-old rapper and actor hosting the iHeart Radio Music Awards for the first time, taking over hosting duties from Lenny Kravitz. Previous hosts also include LL Cool J, Usher, T-Pain, DJ Khaled, Hailey Beiber, Ryan Seacrest, Jason Derulo, and Jamie Foxx.
“I’m looking forward to hosting the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards and sharing the stage with some of the best in music,” Ludacris said in a statement. “It will be an amazing night celebrating fan-favorite artists with special performances that fans won’t want to miss.”
Ludacris is also planning to release new music sometime in 2024. In a November 2023 interview with BET, he revealed that he was considering releasing an EP or an LP. “Yeah, some music projects will be coming out next year. I don’t wanna fake, I don’t wanna stutter-step. I don’t wanna be like [André] 3000 and say, I got an album coming out,” he said. “I don’t know. It’s definitely some music coming next year, but I don’t know if it’s like an EP or an LP. We’re going to figure it out.”
When asked by the publication why he wants to return to music after all this time, the hip-hop star credited his recent film projects, including the Fast & Furious franchise, where he plays the beloved role of Tej Parker.
“These movie projects like Fast & Furious and doing a lot of things like the Karma’s World project that’s on Netflix. You know, doing other art forms where I’m creative, where I’m putting my heart into that, I want to make sure that I leave a legacy on this earth,” he explained. “So it was just taking a step back and getting hungry again, living some life. ’Cause when you put out music, in order for it to be organic and real, you gotta talk about what goes on in your life. So if I had like nine consistent albums, sometimes you gotta take a step back and live some life so that you have a lot more to talk about and that’s what I was doing.”
Ludacris recently joined headliner Usher on the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show stage along with musical guests Alicia Keys, H.E.R., Lil Jon, will.i.am, and Jermaine Dupri.
