Finally: Rihanna Reveals New Album Name and Cover Art

Cheers to Rihanna for finally giving the people what they want: Confirmation that an eighth album is on the way—and news about its name and cover art.

At an art gallery in L.A. on Wednesday, RiRi—who was wearing a slinky black dress and black lipstick—announced the album will be called Anti with artwork created by Israeli artist Roy Nachum.

“This is my favorite album cover I’ve ever done,” she said at the private event before the revealing the cover, which features an image of a toddler-age Rihanna holding a black balloon and wearing a gold crown.

Over the red-and-white canvas, a poem by Chloë Mitchell is written in Braille (a clear theme—Braille was also present on the “FourFiveSeconds” single cover).

“Sometimes the ones who have sight are the blindest,” Rihanna sagely proclaimed after the unveiling, a Kanye-esque nod to Nachum’s statement on vision and vision impairment.

So far, it’s unclear if Rihanna’s previous three (fairly underwhelming) recent tracks —“Bitch Better Have My Money,” “FourFiveSeconds,” and “American Oxygen”—will be part of the album. One recent report claimed those songs might be stand-alone singles and that the pop star plans to start from scratch, but nothing’s been confirmed yet.
