Major Key Alert: DJ Khaled Announces He’s Going on Tour with Beyoncé
Get ready to win, win, win no matter what, because DJ Khaled is “on the road to more success” (his words), posting to Instagram that he is opening for all of Beyoncé‘s Formation world-tour dates. Along with a slick black-and-white video, Khaled posted a little soliloquy about his latest milestone—or “major key,” as he calls his triumphs/favorite things/best bits of sage advice. “Today’s announcement is a major accomplishment in my life,” he wrote. “I want to thank the incomparable icon Beyoncé for this tremendous opportunity of a lifetime.”
“Your music is the soundtrack to so many people’s lives across the globe,” he continued, taking a minute to fanboy over Bey. “Your legacy is a blueprint for the young generation to follow and strive to be. You are the true definition of a superstar.”
Khaled also hit up Snapchat for a candid moment about the “major achievement alert,” smoking a cigar and wearing a “We the Best” T-shirt. “They told me I would never tour. Now I’m on the Beyoncé Formation tour,” he said. “Stadium alert! See you in a stadium near you.”
The tour kicks off next week in Miami, on April 27, and stretches through June 14, when it is scheduled to end in Detroit. Thus far, 22 dates have been announced.
